Great weekend as per , nice to put names to faces ... including Romanian tyre fitters @YorkshireKyle
Track time was behaved as usuall!
Apologies for the hold up when I blew the EGT sensor out my manifold lol
Aaaaaand lastly , the snoring was minimal this year , thank you !
I’m all for changing circuits and that , but at blyton I can’t see that going down well. The people that enjoy taking it easy on track are just going to cause a traffic jam for the more experienced folks.
The normal track layout might be a tad boring for some as after a few times you learn the...
Funny enough rover PG1 gearbox’s used to be able to use engine oil. Why I don’t know.
It’ll be fine. Run that around for abit and dump / refill if you wish later on. Not going to kill the box
Crank pulley bolt not tight enough this letting the the bottom pulley slip ( if it’s not a keyed one ) is the only way i can see that happening other than incorrectly set tensioner.
Either way atleast it’s sorted, 1tooth is cutting it close , 2 tooth out and it’ll do damage.
fair play for...
Yeah even a faulty injector , if it was that fucked to make a hammering / tapping noise , it would be chucking white smoke out the back and be a fucker to get to start
It still runs , not scrap yet mate.
Check the timing ; I’m betting on its jumped or by chance the cam pulley key has snapped off and advanced the cam.
I’ve done plenty that come in sounding like that. If it was bottom end , it’d be knocking like hell
Remap at somewhere reputable and it’ll be a nippy car and not s**t the fuel pump 5mins later down the road.
DERVTec Manchester , RS tuning in Leeds. Or anywhere else once you’ve done your research into a decent company.
Anything over 125/130Hp is bullshit figures.
Martins been there and...
Nice to see it’s finally all coming to an end ! I’m sure micks probably bold headed now lol ( a joke , please no offence ). How handy is mick with cameras , get a few pics thrown up mate.
Hope to see at Csf19 , think the last time I seen it one peice was billington aqadrome.
My mk1...
1.9DTi is the old F8T unit , that's a straight fit wiTh a jc5 box, BUT is old school electronic controlled VE pump.
1.9 Dci F9Q/ F9K 6 speed version is the one to go for. 5 speed block won't take a NDO 6 speed.
Makes a massive difference having the 1.9 and a cruise gear.
The big block part at the front of the engine comes off to gain access to the fuel rail and injectors , held on wiTh 2 13mm nuts inside the holes on the from , if I remember rightly
Where did you get the inner rear tub / arch panels mate ? Need to sort my drivers one out but I'm loosing patience with trying to ' roll ' a new tub section
The block and caps can me machined to put tagged bearings in. I've had it done to one F4R.
Altho there's no real benefits as I've hardly seen the spin bearings
Fuel pump s**t itself, injectors failed or fuel system supply related by the sounds of it.
Needs going on a proper diagnostic machine and looking at live data for fuel pressure on cranking , actuall and requested from ecu ( pressure regulator )
Other thing to check is carefully take your...
M32s are made of s**t anyway , same box in the Astra, can get the revised end case and bigger bearings for them now , plus overfilling to 3L and breather port mod stops them f**king up ??
I'd be happy to strip one of my old common rail pumps down that I ran for 4 years on2T diesel mix.
Bearing in mind that was a high mileage Dci aswell.
I've never had one diesel that's rejected 2T. As said 300ml to 50L of derv is a very small amount, BUT it does somewhat help lubricate and...
The dilution ratio of it ( 50L of derv to 300ml of 2T) isn't nowhere near enough to cause common rail damage.
Fair enough , old systems ( mechanical and electo mechanical ) will run it easy enough as those pumps don't run such high tollerences.
Need to do a test really on a car I haven't...
IMO never had a problem with running two stroke.
Always ran 2 stroke low ash mineral through all the diesels I've got, including the track derv. Not had one fuel related problem in the 5 years 100K miles I've clocked up between them all
