Looks really good, nice work.
I'm sure you've probably been asked this a million times now, but what ET are your wheels and what size / profile tyres? I'm guessing ET43 and 195 50 15? Thanks.
Wow those do look great, BUT, 20mm is a fairly hefty spacer size innit!
If I get the 2118's in the same ET as my OEM wheels that would, ideally I'd like silver or anthracite in ET38. I've emailed Speedline so we'll see what they say. Does anywhere online sell them in ET38 in those colours??
But does it adversely affect the handling as mentioned above? Assume you'd need hubcentric spacers too, what size? I like to drive my Cup quickly and don't want to c**k up the handling, not too fussed by looks as long as it doesn't look terrible obviously lol!
old thread resurrection, but do you even need spacers on the 2118's, can you just run them as is? I've never been keen on using spacers myself, but want some 2118's!
Can confirm ride is firm but handles well, it also looks better from side profile.
Not derogatory, just stating how it was. Progress thread locked and do not have time to recreate, but may possibly continue on PH for those interested.
Enjoying car so far, has some niggles to address...
Is there an option to simply upgrade the OEM dampers and retain the CS springs, I'm thinking back to Saxo days when I had Billy dampers and H&R springs, was fantastic and compliant.
I see Chris has ‘liked’ this post.
The irony here being that despite being an old French car, the only reason things are (almost) falling off is because of incompetence on the part of the installer(s), whether that be Chris or others is irrelevant at this stage. The thing that actually annoys...
Count yourself lucky you didn’t. The alarm alone is enough to make me want to burn it. Can’t even leave the damn thing locked.
I’m happy to continue reporting progress as normal, just felt it was necessary to respond to those who don’t seems to have any empathy for my situation. Anyway that is...
I have done. At this stage I feel there’s no point as the number of things giving me grief seem to be growing, furthermore, I can’t help but feel like some of these would have been apparent already (I.e. the alarm issue which is doing my f**king head in), and certain info conflicts with what is...
Boo hoo. If it was your hard earned money you’d have more empathy. I could elaborate on the list of things that have p*ssed me off about his purchase but I won’t for fear of upsetting any more cry babies on here.
Ok the alarm has just gone off again at work following the 'ignition trick' this morning. So we've had approx. four hours of no alarm, then it went off again. It seems to run for a few minutes, then stops, then starts again and sounds for 1 minute or so maybe longer, then stops briefly, then...
In fairness I didn't expect the car to be mint at all, it's 15 years old, my only gripe is (or now was as I'm over it) the poor level of workmanship in certain areas. That's all. There are also a few things that I was told that seem to conflict with what was presented in the build thread...
Lol I see, it's fortunate that the opinions of others don't worry me too much then eh ;)
Perhaps this will help you understand my initial frustration; I paid full whack for a car that had some quite concerning issues, anyone with a degree of sanity would feel the same way. If you are going to...
Ahhh I see, so I suppose if you taped over the sensors then that would in effect do the same thing, unless it's a faulty sensor causing the alarm to activate...who knows!
Not sure what you mean guys, also i'm not so sure you'd feel sorry for him if it was either of you in my position, perhaps...
Hmmmm, there is some differing advice here lads who do I believe?! :)
I don't want it too hard as I won't be using the car on track, I have Ohlins on my Megane and they're insanely plush and the rebound is amazing, I'm trying to recreate that compliancy on the Clio. It won't be sitting low so...
Correction to my post above, glue was on both windows not just drivers side hence photos of passenger window!
Ok great thanks. So does yours not go off when it's on your drive at home? Mine just goes off whenever the car is locked normally. So far so good this morning, although it set off...
I wonder whether it's because Chris swapped out the handle with a base model Clio that it's different? My wife had a Clio years ago and I can't remember whether that had the three dots facing down or up...must be a logical explanation for it anyway.
So I've been enjoying buzzing around in the...
