Time for some updates I guess, starting with the water leak that's been plaguing the car.
I took the carpet up and decided to remove the old tar on the floor of the car, which unfortunately revealed this:
Which was caused by this small hole in the top corner of the seam between the...
I'm down at my dads place in Ruyton XI Towns at the moment with the mrs and her Cockapoo. My dad has a pair of Bassett hounds and today we all went for a walk up one of the nearby hills.
I took advantage of the opportunity to take the nifty fifty and get some shots while we were out. I'm not...
I'm on my phone so cba linking pictures.
The RB was amazing for the memories it provided: Europe, Scotland, blasts with mates, getting detailed at midlands car care, getting christened with the mrs, how it sounded with a decat, everything was awesome about it.
Ultimately the E21 takes it for...
Played this last night at my mates.
Graphics are very nice, everything looks much sharper and deeper, something to be expected of 1080p though.
Flames out of the exhausts every gear change in certain cars looked very cheap.
The cars handle very well, understeer builds nicely and LOOS is...
LPG isn't equivalent to double the "standard" mpg either.
You normally get the equivalent of about 70% on top of the normal mpg.
My Saxo does 40-45mpg on petrol, but I generally only see 35-38mpg on LPG, I believe this is because the car produces slightly less power when on LPG. It's also...
Re: CS camping trip 2014
I'd be game, but maybe not right on top of CSS14?
I'm a yes for now though, and being the glue of the NW, plenty will come with me ;)
Welcome along mate, there's a fair few members around Chester so I'm sure you'll see some meets popping up soon.
Good luck with your search, Mk1's aren't the most common thing around here these days.
Strangely, your camera seems to "worsen" the car somehow?! I mean no offence in saying that, in fact quite the contrary. The car looks so much better in person IMO.
Wingmirrors aren't great but other than that and the indicators which you've already said you're changing, it's lovely.
As long...
Yup, plus, I'm pretty confident in saying I won't see another S1 on the road, in Topazbraun.
A £20k Porker is common by comparison.
I like rare things. :o
Purchase of the car: £1,800
Rough build cost: £6,000
That build cost includes a fair few tools that I didn't have, probably to the tune of £800 or so, which I guess you could discount from the cost.
I've still got the engine swap to do, which should come to about £1,000 to £1,200 then a few...
Yup, it's not been cheap to build, but in theory, once the new engine is in, it'll be reasonably cheap to own and a fairly pleasant thing to drive.
At the moment, the overheating M10 that's in it, is more of a chore than anything else, watching the temperature gauge instead of the speedo isn't...
So, last night I got the confirmation email that the E21 will be one of the features in the February edition of BMW Car Magazine.
Goes on sale in January.
