They give a nice beam and they look good, what's not to like?
Rhys, you're so broken you're nearly a set of black FRS wheels... Nearly, of course nothing is THAT broken.
Can't wait to see it tbh, even if we only got 2/3 of the day in, so be it. As you say, it was a chance to research what's what, so hopefully when we come to drop the engine in, you'll have a better idea of what the best settings are.
This part has been the most enjoyable IMO, I love working on...
So today Jon and I worked on the M20, getting it stripped down and cleaned up. We lost some time when we had to move the engine out onto the drive to get it under the gazebo to avoid the rain, but other than that, everything went well.
Started off like this:
Manifold off:
Inlet removed...
Too much flavour, or is it the fun content that bothers you? ;)
I'll happily put something together though, there's a few people going to the trackdays at Oulton over the next month, as said, we could meet up there.
What do we fancy? The weather has been crap recently, so I've not bothered, but I'll happily put something together if people are interested?
What are we thinking then?
Went out on Saturday with my mrs and my mates mrs and their pet dogs, Buddy and Elmo. Just a few hours walking round Delamere forest, fortunately managed to avoid the rain too.
Still need to check my AF and make sure it's right, I think it's a bit out. Happy enough with them though.
I dropped the last bottle of GTechniq C1 that Shinearama had in stock, leaving me with a very waterproof garage floor.
I've also dropped my tub of Glasur, which smashed the plastic.
Detailing accidents can be expensive :(
Yeah, exhaust is my issue, E30 manifold won't fit round the linkage, and E21 manifold won't fit the E30 engine (needs porting).
Likelihood is I'll butcher an E21 manifold and then have a custom system back from there.
In terms of induction kits, I'll have to see what fits, but I want something...
This weekend I removed the engine, with the help of Jon, Christopher, Joey and Oli. Was a dream to work on, not a single nut or bolt stuck, even the manifold and exhaust came off without the slightest of resistance, very impressed.
The Saturday was a day of removing parts; prop, exhaust, loom...
So today, BMW Car Magazine landed on my doorstep. One of the features this issue is a certain 316 restoration :o
I have to say, I'm really impressed by the layout and the quality of the feature, which covers no less than 5 pages! (It's my first mag feature, I'm sure you can tell!)
Anyway, a...
Only games would be from my youth; GT3: A-spec, Vice City and BF2 (on the PC). I'd rate them all as 10/10 but almost certainly with rose tinted glasses. At that age, I was impressed by anything.
Now I'm older, wiser and ultimately more demanding from a game, I'd say I could pick a hole or flaw...
