Cheers buddy!
I have no idea what that link even directs me towards for the sensor ?
I’m assuming it’s a broken sensor that’s been taped up then..? Seen as it’s still a Renault part.
Another little update:
The battery and STOP light has been flickering over bumpy roads..
A quick look and it seems the battery wasn’t even clamped down or tight, luckily the clamp was still there.
On investigation though, there’s a plug that’s been taped up and a vaccume pipe of some sort...
Cheers for the information buddy :D
I am tempted to give the cambelt a go myself, I keep putting it off for a garage to do.
I do have a week off work soon, so I might have to dig out the tools and CS guidance lol ? it’s the only thing I’ve really stayed away from doing, cambelts always get me...
Cheers buddy! The plan is to get ontop of maintenance and I’ll do more digging into the performance side of things. Should be a little hoot with a bit more power!
A little Saturday night thought,
Can anyone tell me how easy/hard/don’t bother it is to retro fit cruise control?
That’s the only thing that’s really bugging me not having.
What’s needed to make it work?
I can’t help you with the video sorry, I’m not very good with that stuff.
But the key issue almost sounds like the barrel is worn or something?
Is there any damage around the barrel area?
Cheers buddy! It’s not a bad one at all! Cheap and cheerful! I think that will be done down the line, once these injectors start playing up, I’ll just upgrade them.
The plan is to get ontop of the maintenance first, I still need the cambelt done. Then I’ll start on fun bits.
There’s plenty of aftermarket parts available for them and other brands. I wouldn’t worry about main dealer stuff. 99% of the time main dealer stuff is just boxed Delphi stuff
Just a little update,
Finally got around to changing the glow plugs! I didn’t have a tool in my Halfords tool box that would reach over the glow plug, so I have bought a 10mm long reach halford socket and it’s done the trick.
The job took less than 10 minutes and it was a doddle with the...
I assume your talking about the ABS self check? No ABS light on the dash etc?
Just a few ABS noises when you first set off? And if you go over speed bumps a little too quick?
Is it affecting your peddle at all? Fighting your foot back?
That will cause a problem IMO.
No idea why you’d buy used drums, why didn’t you get the new bearing pressed into your own drum? It’s a 5 minute job to take off/refit.
Just jam something under the bonnet lever in the passenger seat, in the full open position. Then go to the bonnet and try and open it then. Happened to me.
Edit: I found a de-icer bottle was big enough to hold the level all the way open, while I went around to the bonnet.
Cheers Roger,
I’m going to try the glow plugs first, as I think they’re still the originals. I think it’s them, as the car doesn’t rough idle or anything to suggest injectors.
