One of the main things letting the car down is the paintwork, which I will hope to get some quotes when normality resumes and get it sorted, front end needs a full respray I would have thought due to the amount of stone chips in it and the lacquer is particularly bad on that. The bonnet has...
Whilst I had the wheels off I've cleaned up the brake disc centres and had a go at cleaning the arches. Didn't have much joy with the arches so will have to get some better products and do at a later date. Didnt do the greatest job of spraying up the rear caliper but it was letting the car down...
Another time consuming job was trying to get these clean. Only really seen how bad they were when I've had a puncture fixed or a new set of tyres so one of the jobs I've added to the list was cleaning the inner part of the wheels. In all fairness I struggled a lot to get them to a stage I'm...
So whilst I've been off this was the first job I've tackled as it's been irritating me for a long time but usually I don't have that much free time to really dedicate to doing small details which I would like to, so last week I had a new battery dropped off (mine went flat over winter) although...
In a moment of madness a while back I tried to clean the black staining off the exhaust tip, and learnt the hard way not to use a Dremel 😳 with the wrong bit...
Cheers mossyv6, do you have any suggestions where is best to buy some new ones? I've not seen any on the usual sites although in fairness I haven't been looking specifically for them
One thing I would like to sort out if people have any suggestions is to how I would tidy up the door handles? The rubbery coating is peeling off pretty badly and just makes the interior look a bit tired by
Another job I did the other week was replace the poor speakers in the front door cards, managed to get a pair of speakers on clearance that were the right depth, just had to cut two tabs off to fit in the door properly. Not mega improvement but still better than the originals.
And with the new surround, which as I've just come to the car seems to not want to sit properly! Most likely due to heat I can imagine. Anyway it's better than it was before and tidied it up a little
So, one thing I've had that's been bugging me for ages was the gap around the aftermarket radio I fitted probably a good 18 months ago, I know it's only a small task but finding one that would definitely fit wasn't the easiest (for me anyway)
So, I'm going to try and create a thread that I will keep updated regularly! i've made a few before now when I initially bought it back in what would have been June 2017. It started out as a fairly low mileage (65k) 2 owner car that just needed looking after in the day to day. Apart from the...
I'm not surprised mate it looks spot on! Yeah I understand what you mean regarding the leather seats I hadn't thought about that to be fair, think I'll stick with the ones I've got in for now 🙂
Yeah mine is a phase one, I'll pop a thread up later and try and stick with it this time 😂 I've done...
That albi blue is lovely! Glad you've got it still after all the work you've done I thought you might have sold it when the new one turned up. Mines capsicum red, a cup model in a 55 plate reg'd Jan 2006. Love the car and just trying to tidy it up a little then came across your thread and it's...
Cheers brookie, yes I did in all fairness but haven't posted a lot since I didn't want to seem a fraud in a clio page, must say though that I find this more useful as the megane forums I've been on seem quiet. The other reason is my meg was my daily at the time so probably didn't get the...
Only just stumbled across this thread yesterday, love the colour of the car and the mods you've done, stunning car. I've got a 225 cup which needs tidying, mainly lacquer peel.
I'm gonna have to make sure I use it at the weekend or a few evenings in that case, sods luck isn't it! I've never had a problem with the electrics until this window went a few months ago and even then it was the cabling, looks like a catalyst for more... Bloody thing
I'll take it the garage I had the part swapped at, long story short, Renault wanted £260 for one side, the side which was broken, I found a seller on eBay that would order the part for £130 assuring me it would fit, it turned up and didn't fit, got a partial refund on it so lost about £35 and...
I know this is a clio forum but I follow this a lot more due to the activity, rather than the inactivity on the Mégane forum. I had my window regulators replaced 4 weeks ago, driven it the same day and it was spot on. Fast forward 4 weeks and had a knock at the door this morning to be informed...
Thanks for the tip, always handy to have some experience to know these things! Are there usually any other symptoms of failing injectors that you know of other than the idleing? It just feels rather sluggish to me and eats fuel at the min
ah ok I could probably do with replacing those I think, my Toxic fume light has come on again today (EML?) on the way to work, so gonna have to get it diagnosed sooner rather than later now, is there a place you would reccomend to get the injectors from?
It was done at Silverdale motors, in Newcastle-under-Lyme as it's the best place I could get for the price, paid £650 for all the belts to be done and cabin/fuel/oil filter etc with plugs. Was going to take to Rentec in Llandudno but it meant booking a day off work and I don't have many spare...
Managed to get some of the genuine led boot lights for £10 off a forum so will look forward to fitting them And a Renault elf sticker for the back window. Planning on taking the car to Mark Black in the next few months for a full check over and see if it needs anything. Definitely want new brake...
