Water sloshing sound and wet belt

@Parky14 i had the issue in mine. I actually removed half a bucket of water from my sills once. IIRC it doesn’t help if the front jacking points are slightly bent and damaged like mine were. I removed the front arch liners and removed a whole load of crud built up behind it. This might help.

    Project Log - Ph1 Flame Red 172

Was it an ally bonnet? As if you can’t find a colour match upgrade to an ally one and get it painted?

    Back in a ph1

Gloucester services....that mean you are local to the area of just passing? The only Ph1 I saw in Gloucester or surrounding area was mine. Would be good to see another kicking about. What are the plans for this one? Daily driver, weekend project or dare I say track machine?

    Back in a ph1

My old one was at 175k of abuse and it was still going strong. I did service it regularly and keep on top of everything else.

The everlasting ph1 ITB Build **GREEN-BUILD STARTS AT PAGE 100**

Nice. I was just wondering as I was at Retro arises the weekend and there were show cars with clean engine bays but also track toys with the same. Tbh the nicer ones were the track cars as it was still functional and not OTT with everything removed. Looked a lot more professional and purposeful.

The everlasting ph1 ITB Build **GREEN-BUILD STARTS AT PAGE 100**

How clean/empty is the engine bay going? Is it just going to be bare minimum with everything relocated or going back to “standard”?

    Back in a ph1

This will be my issue if I ever buy another one....sorry when I buy anothe! (Won’t be any time soon with the immanent arrival of my new car and refusal to sell my E34). I would want the same spec plus the rest as my old one immediately.

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Was at Retro arises today, so a little cheating for good spots as there was a lot there. But highlights were: This child’s car strapped to a mower engine (2CV in the back ground had an R1 engine in) And this Clio. Audi engine in the back. Very well finished and the quality of the work was amazing

    Bought an M140i

I pick mine up in two weeks and I’m a little excited. Only drove their demo model for about 20mins though and I was a bit reserved. How is it to live with? Also see this is identical to mine - shadow edition in 3 door grey. Wanted orange but that was a factory order and an extra £100 a month...

Winter Clio car cover- decent one?

If it’s not been thought about already get one with a soft cotton lining to help prevent scratches as it will move about in the wind.

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Saw loads of classic super cars and race cars plus loads of covered car trailers southbound of M40 this evening. Then realised they must have been at the Silverstone Classic.

Cars you sold that are now worth a fortune

Also had an E30 325i touring kicking about home for a while as we used it as a donor car for an engine swap into a Triumph 2000. Knowing what I know now I don’t know why that E30 was chosen as it had an LSD and everything and needed only a small bit of work to make good again. Would have been...

Cars you sold that are now worth a fortune

Had a mk1 Fiesta track car which had a 2ltr zetec in. Not worth much back in 2010-2011 when owned as it wasn’t road legal, just needed minor jobs for an MoT test. Now fiestas have gone up in price regaledess of condition! On this note I am not selling my E34 anytime soon seeing as that has...

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

When I sold my Clio I always said if I had another track car it would be “interesting” and not necessarily faster (One reason why I like the Ph1 and wouldn’t have a Ph2). Yes I could go get an M3 but it just won’t be the same as going into Quary at Combe in something like an MG Midget knowing...

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

I was looking at old rubbish on eBay yesterday, this time was Fiesta RS1800’s. Again no idea why I like them and I would use it daily. There was a mk3.5 fiesta in poverty spec but had the 1.8 zetec in from the RS1800 for sale recently, should have bought it just to annoy boy racers in it...

    New car...again....Kit car content

I knew someone who used a Luton van to transport his old kit car. Used the tail lift and an engine crane to hoist it into the back. Another option if you don’t want to tow it, plus somewhere to sleep in the back. Also car looks smart. Looking at this has made me look at them on eBay.

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

Weren’t they quoted as being faster than a 911.....but only once as then they blew up. Sure I read that somewhere.

God that thing is awful...however it is super cool. I like these a lot, and the Maestro too.

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

Currently 5 Ph1’s for sale on eBay, ranging from dreamers, rough things, awful adverts and a possible peach of one. Don’t think I’ve seen that many for sale at one time.

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

^^ This. Engine swap in my Octavia wasn’t the easiest. It was easier to drop a BMW M20 engine into a Triumph 2000.

Seeing 1990's cars on the roads nowadays....

I agree, older cars have way more character than they do now. I would say my 2002 Octavia is a little too new for my liking. But then again I do also drive this (not quite 90's by a few months!) which satisfies the older car criteria: Would like to see how it compares to a new 5 series in size...

    Always said I'd be back - Clio 172 ph1

If selling I could be interested. I need another Ph1 in my life after getting rid of mine.

    Wheel cleaner

^^ This. My old wheels were pretty rough after a few track days with brake dust burnt in (didn't get the paint thick enough between the spokes). Nothing was shifting it. Gave up and actually bought new wheels, mainly as I wanted different wheels. I used AMDetails iron fall out stuff on my...

Odyssey Blue phase 1 for sale...

Not worth that’s kind of money....yet. Yes it is low miles and is in a rare colour and they do not come up for sale often. For that kind of money it will need to be proper special with engine/suspension upgrades or had a lot of restoration work done to it. He is obviously pushing his luck IMO...

    Exhaust options?

I paid about £400 for a custom made full system for my old Clio, which included a decat pipe that did come in handy! I also had a cat back for my Octavia vRS done at the same place and that was like £300 and then a full system of my E34 535i. If you can get to junction 18 of the M4 easy I would...

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

Not sure if it was in this thread about the Polo Harlequin being spotted, but I did see a VW Scirocco Harlequin at Castle Combe on Saturday. Couldn’t get a picture as I was in the queue to get in and it was several Cara behind. Thought it was pretty smart a great nod to the Polo.
