I miss it.. This project will have a lot to live up to!
I'm from Birmingham.. But yeah definitely worth doing Renaultsport paints are amazing!
Fitted my new renault sport badge today :)
hahaha yes matt the new light!!! that will change EVERYTHING. Car complete!
cheers mate..
its had autobrite magifoam, and then washed with boggo fairy liquid to strip back any old crap on the paint.. its a good degreaser ;) followed by AG Tar remover where needed. I would usually clay it too...
Cheers :) won't be doing much other than a good clean and little to start as it needs belts and dephaser doing and some fixing up before anything interesting can happen, plus tax insurance etc has killed me financially!
Plan is belts and dephaser at the end of the month and then it's MOT is...
Yeah it was certainly an experience! Glad the clio held up so well in a smash!
I don't really tend to do other people's cars it's just a hobby for me really, I've done a few friends of friends and that kind of thing before and charged ~£120.. I can get a car done in a day if I start early...
Love this Matt cannot wait to get stripping it down and see it painted!!! Going to be an absolute beaut!
Thanks for the mention :D and yes you do need one!!! :p
Continued the detail tonight.. It's taking ages but so so worth it! It's a beautiful colour!!
Still loads more to go :( the paint is so badly marked its flat and hardly even reflecting looks like it was cleaned with a Brillo pad! But it's coming out brilliantly
As you can see here...
Cheers mate :) That Matt ^
Haha! I should say Mr.Harvey has been an absolute legend.. Came with me yesterday to pick it up and drove it back from Somerset to Birmingham! Another eventful car shopping related roadtrip :D
First off tints out.. They were a bit scratched plus I prefer without
Quick interior clean down, glass and leather cleaner.. Going to do a full detail on this soon.
Rub strips off
Autobrite magifoam
Quick pass with the machine polisher revealed the paint underneath this.. This...
Hi all :)
So.. Yesterday I made the return to Clio Sport ownership and god it feels good! :)
you may remember my black 182..
which was involved in a high speed head on collision with a drug dealer being chased by traffic police in Birmingham city centre almost exactly 2 years ago (Jan...
Cheers all.. The difference is unreal.. Absolutely love the noise and it's bloody quick!!!!!!! Still getting used to it tbh but the power delivery is immense
I've took it apart again now to upgrade some bits..
New rad and oil return (old one was leaking slightly)
Old vs new.. Difference...
Tax is quite cheap.. Cheaper than the clio if I remember.. Insurance is a bit pricey but it's come down on my renewal quite a bit with everything declared etc with sky :)
Hopefully it's around 400 at the moment.. I'm going to get it on the rollers and set 400 low boost possibly less and 450 high boost
450 is about the limit on the 5 speed gearbox so don't want to push any more than that.. When I go 6 speed I can wind up the boost a bit more maybe aim 500ish as I...
Cheers both.. They aren't really that dark I don't think they look different in different light they are anthricite-ish weird metallic colour Id actually asked for lighter but I was pleasantly suprised by this lol!
Mapping went reaaally well! Hit 1.1 bar of boost.. And wow! Flies!!! Turned it down to a safe .92 to preserve the W58.. Can't wait to put it on the rollers and see what it makes and get some final tweaking done
Wired up ready :)
Final check over and fit new bumper retainers
It drives really well although I've had to keep it off boost as there is only a base map on for now...
I have it back from the exhaust shop tomorrow and then it's on to mapping Friday hopefully
Yeah, a lot of the big builders will use NA cranks etc as they have seen less stress as an NA and they are exactly the same as the TT.. There is a slight difference in Pistons and head but only due to compression.. They are still bombproof :)
The 5 speed gearbox however will only last till...
