I think all the required brackets are still available new from Renault, no idea what they'd cost though
Have a look here, you'd want items 1. 4. 9. and 10. for definite, possibly some of the bolts too...
According to the Safety Devices website I'm supposed to ring the Msa and pay a £25 fee to get a certificate to show the cage is what it is, I think I'll ring them in the next day or two and what they say
This is where I get confused, as I believe mine is homologated, it's got its Fia sticker on B pillar with serial number. I'm not disputing the argument over front section at all, just a little confused
SD did touch on the fact they've changed the material cages are made from, whether that has an impact or not I don't know, short of going to the MSA, which I am tempted to do to be honest
Reading somebody else's thread it would appear the 20th March has been quoted, but to be honest my cage was delayed by about a month (got mine in a group buy though)
I'm going for a full weld in one next though, having found out there's a motorsport company in the same town that I live in :)
It may well be, £100 isnt the end of the world compared to being stuck with a cage that can't be used. Unless Mark Fish can do something regarding the 'new' style cage
In light of all the recent discussions regarding safety devices cages in competition cars I thought I'd speak to SD themselves, below is the response I received, thought it may be of benefit to others who are in the same position as I am now
I'll grab a screen shot of the email SD sent me, basically they won't be doing anything for those of us who have the existing cage, no new front sections or compatible replacements etc etc :(
I ended up waiting at least a month over the quoted date when I got mine, I'm keeping mine in and pushing back competitive racing for 2018, I've been told by the Mrs to buy another shell and cage it, then swap everything over from my current car.
Its a pain but I don't really have any other...
