So not a lot has happened as I had a busy week with work and then the weekend got taken up with a heavy drinking sesh Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday (regretted that at 6.30am Monday morning!) but I did get some bits done. I’ve been meaning to clean my front seat belts for some time now...
I’m replacing my sump gasket this week and just trying to find out the best way to do it as I’ve read it’s a bit of a pain. Just looking for any tips or guides, stuff to watch out for and any bolts that are hidden! Any help is appreciated thank you!
All those colours look really good! Loving your spoiler, it is perfect for the rear of the mk3! Good job with the belts looks spot on! And as said above you should come along to csf it’s a really really good weekend!
there were a couple of people who had things come up on the day and I don’t think the weather helped but it’s never going to be a big meet on a car park on a weekend! I think I will try and make the next meet on a Sunday as it seems more people are free! Once we book something good in (which...
To be honest I wasn’t expecting much of a turn out as it’s the first one I’d organised but would of liked a few more people ? hopefully it will pick up a bit and we can start to book in some decent meets! It was good to have a catch up with don tho! Hopefully see you soon bud! Are you thinking...
That’s what I like to hear! Not another one for the scrap yard! I’m sure some time in the not so distant future I will be looking for a ph1! I love how the front end looks!
Good to see a standard ph1 such a awesome looking car! I’d keep it standard and enjoy it! Like others have said if it’s been sat still for 6 years get the belts at the top of the list of things to do!
Hopefully get to see the car at some of the Midlands monthly meets!
Looking really good mate! The exhaust is looking really good! Sits out perfectly! I noticed the weekend how much mine sticks out the back and I don’t like it!
This is how my bumper sit’s as it should
This is the blots you should have through the metal bracket first then the plastic bumper on top.
And this is how it should look without the bolt in.
genuinely mate it just needs taking off again and pulling it towards the rear of the car and push in. It won’t go back on as it’s on the clips under the wheel arch
Yea it’s very annoying! There are a few around the car, really little one on the boot lid and a bigger one under the passenger wing mirror! There is a chap down my parents road that works for dent devils but I’ve never seen his work so don’t know how good he is! It’s on the long list of thing to do!
So the may West Midlands meet was Saturday morning so I was up and out giving the car a quick wash as it was really dusty from all this dry weather and not moving! Then off to star city in Birmingham for the meet which was only me and @Don who showed up...... fail!! But was good to have a catch...
Well....... the may meet wasn’t the best of starts! Me and @Don were the only ones to show up ??was good to have a catch up with you mate!
I’m not going to organise a meet in June because French car show is on the 7th/8th July so I will put a thread up soon for a convoy there! I haven’t been...
After tea I cracked on with the plugs, leads and air filter. It was getting on a bit now and I was ready to change the oil but didn’t bother as it was starting to go dark so I decided to call it a night and get it all back together ready for tomorrow. So I put the bumper and all the other bits...
So tonight after work I wanted to put it all back together, service it and change the sump gasket! I got it all back together I just didn’t get time to change the oil and fit the new sump gasket so that will be done next week now!
I took some bolts to work with me today and on my breaks I got...
