Hi, Have a smashed up 182 scorpion exhaust following my recent rally adventure so looking for the best replacement so looking for suggestions. Can I run a single exit 172? Are the mountings the same or different because of the wheel well? I want a light weight, small as possible rugged unit so...
This is the set i'm going for, is this the same as you?
Helix Clutch Cover - Helix Cover Assembly Heavy Duty - 60-5116
Helix Clutch Release Bearing = Helix Release Bearing - 40-5109
Helix Clutch Plate - Helix 4 paddle Cerametallic Drive Plate (Sprung Hub) - 76-5117
Hi Graham, hope the new season is going well! I've just had a major failure on a number of fronts including the front left wheel parting company with the car! I also blew the new clutch and smashed the gearbox. I'm just about to pull the trigger on a 4 paddle clutch and noticed you had a helix...
Did you make your choice yet? My New standard clutch failed at the rally last weekend (along with my wheel issues) the clutch came apart and acted as a circular saw! Looking at Helix 4 paddle are there any other options?
Went through the debris tonight and found a melted spigot ring! Left it on by mistake by the looks of it and created a 10mm gap after it melted. Damn it!
Hi all,
During the TSH stages Rally I was competeing on over the weekend my Studs sheared off and the wheel said good bye and made a run for the Atlantic, covereing about 200m before giving up on freedom! However when it made its break for it, it decided to take the wing as well! So my question...
Yeah, the studs didnt come off they all sheared inside the hub just after the raised section! I was coming in tight to 90 right hit a compression and bye bye wheel! The wheel carried on for 200m!
@Pauleds Going back in time on your posts! But I was rallying on the TSH stages this weekend and two things happened. A bunch of wheel studs sheared and I lost a wheel even after torquing to 110nm so which studs did you use and then secondly my driveshaft bust and seeing the same thing happened...
Hi, I had plain lexan and the fitter (standard windscreen fitter) applied a black boarder before fitting. I'm not sure what he used but he has done it a number of time.
You out for wildlife? You need to come down to Portreath in April a weekend sprint stage and then the big one in September England's first approved public closed road hillclimb at Watergate bay near Newquay.
I've got a 182 cup but turned it to a Rally car and when I cut the loom out all sorts of issues with ABS so the plan is to replace with the pro-line kit but you need a bias valve or the backs will lock up to much . Most of this info courtesy of @pure-motorsport
Just checking but is that tank staying where you have put it? If it is then is it a dual skin tank? MSA Regs may need checking as the last time I looked you need a firewall between tank and cabin. Mk1, Mk2 escorts have a boot hatchbacks dont so tanks need to be inside another box. However not an...
Ah should have warned you about the tyres had the same issue with the RB5s they dont have anywhere for the rain to get out so they just float! It was the same for the Audi getting overtaken by everything! Also can get TD pro race 3s in white quite cheap and delivered in a few days if you ever...
Just to add to this if you run in modified you will need a MSA log book for your car, not quite as strict as a race/rally car log book. It's also the same for sports libre. I had to run in this class as my car is 99% rally car but don't have the log book yet but as it has a MOT its ok to run in...
Big update day! Got the car back ready for it's first event this week. I will be breaking it in easy with a two day sprint event around the RAF Portreath air field which will act as a warm up for the first rally as this airfield is used in the TSH stages rally in May.
The gearbox was collected...
Just a quick video of Graham and the rest of A3 (Minus me ) going into the corner known as Quarry. I took this to look at lines and braking points.
