Yes ...it was the flange angle that was the problem iirc..

In regards to standard parts and the pain of getting them ..I changed my exhaust and the best option was a pattern part from Euro car parts ..it took 3 different garages to get it fitting properly...was all shapes ..in the end the mot station had to take it off completely and cut a little...

This is the problem with S1/ SB or any other standard production category..there is always suspicions and whispers about cheating etc .. That's why a few championships wont entertain it ..Midland have recently introduced it but were sceptical ..The problem with the Clios is that standard parts...

Well done ..first ones over , sky's the limit now ..in car camera is a good addition if you don't already have one ..you can watch again and again and see where you can improve etc ..and post on you tube to show off your best runs etc ..

Try the Harewood hillclimb school ..I did it on Thursday..brilliant advice and great day out ..well worth the money ..??

Will Roberts is the lad ..black phase 1 iirc..well worth chatting to him and seeing what's involved in modifying it and being competitive..

Yes..I would do a few different ones..I'm at harewood on Sunday..in my class ( I've been put into modified class) there are 45 cars ...massive class there ..one of the fastest iirc is a clio phase 1 ..think the lad might be on here ..

You'll be near shelsley walsh and prescott then ?? ..those events are a different league, in respect of cars and prestige ..well worth giving a go ..Loton park too ( imo the best of the lot) .

Welcome to the clio hillclimbing/ sprinting club..great fun and very addictive ..which championship are you doing ?? HSA is the best imo , with varied events and a very competitive S1 class ..

Subscribed to this , as I was toying with buying this car for a while before you bought and I run standard production with my p1 in the hsa and Midland speed championship ..so will be interested to see your progress ..I'd check on the regs regarding the 15s tho ..as the cup never offered them...

How does it compare to your phase 1's ?? ..driving wise .

Standard is the way to go ..if you go faster it's down to your improvement, not how much money you can throw at it ?

Hi ..been on here for a while but I've just become a paid up member..i have a Phase 1 Exclusive ( 133) ..its basically a toy that I sprint and hillclimb and occasionally embarrass my teenage daughter's when I pick them up ?..ive had it 2 years and it's just done 82ish thousands miles iirc..its...

The performance version of the phases was the v6 ..so the exclusive was basically like the Raider they did recently ..just a few fancy bits and different paint colour etc

Just at the same rate as any other phase 1 172 . They are marmite .I do love the colour tbh, and the comfy leather seats ..i just see them as the equivalent of what Peugeot did with the 309 gti and Goodwood ..end of production special .

Just looked on eBay for one and id say your spot on ..looks good ..not cheap tho ..
