Does anyone know?
I assume the measurements must be the same so will it be a straight swap?
Thanks for any help
Just to update the thread...........the shell was picked up yesterday and went off to the scrap yard.
What a shame. Another PH1 bites the dust :(
Probably won't own another clio in the future
Kitson I painted mine black and they looked so much better!
I will be selling them as well if you're interested
Otherwise, I sprayed some primer on, then some paint. Simple
All sorted guys. I jacked it up to compress the shock a bit, and my dad remembered he had an impact wrench last used about 30 years ago!
Few whacks of the hammer and hey presto.
Thanks for all your help
Well actually, my brother does have a decent welder!
However I'm going to be selling this suspension so I'd like to leave it good condition.
Tempted by an impact gun as it will help me out with other stuff in the future but it's not really something I need that much
I'll try jacking it up...
I can't drive the car as I'm stripping it. It will never drive again lol
The shock won't spin if I have a spanner on the other part. Will it stop spinning so much if I jack it up from underneath to put some load on it?
People saying use a buzz gun, surely the shock will just spin anyway
It's not the standard suspension so no Allen key. It's similar but need a spanner instead. Tried turning both together as hard as possible but it ain't going anywhere!
Ok yes it's a stupid question. I've got both bottom bolts out but the top mount nuts are incredibly tight.
Just want to know if there is a technique or special tool I can use? It's hard to do it as I need to also hold an adjustable spanner on the flat above the nut also.
Going to buy a better...
I put mine behind the passenger seat but kept a full size battery.
You need a battery tray/box. Positive & Negative battery terminals and wire, fuse holder and fuse, and a junction box for under the bonnet.
That's about it
You can also run a cut off switch in the dash if you wish. I didn't bother
Yes. But I have other people already wanting it. Would rather sell as a pair with the engine mount. Might take me some time to get them off the car as I'm really busy atm
Gearbox on the way out. Car is rusting badly, paintwork is shocking, bumpers tatty etc. just calling it quits as its time to get a car with an interior. And that I fit in without modification. Looking at civic type r ep3
Just put the car on axle stands and removed the wheels ready for sale.
Looks like I'll never drive this car again as I'm going to break it. Another ph1 on its way to the scrap yard :(
