Been looking at that Alpine mini-amp - can someone explain what '4x45W' means? Are there 4x speakers opposed to single 8" one? Would this one be pretty weak compared to say, the Vibe Optisound you linked? Having an in-line amp to save faffing with wiring direct to the battery seems tempting...
Thanks a lot for that list, very helpful. Fitting the headunit won't involve wires then, plug and play after removing my (seemingly busted) single-din unit?
Mini-sub definitely worth the £150? Never really considered subs/amps like the barry boys in their corsas, but this could be a nice little...
Thanks for the replies. What sort of price is the alpine 'mini-amp'? Would rather underseat than boot I think, at which point a pair of front speakers would seem worthwhile (relatively cheap). How hard to hook all of this up would it be? Intend to keep the car a while so want to do it properly -...
Looking to buy a new headunit for my 2005 Impreza STi. Looking at the Alpine IVE-W560BT - after a double din unit with a full size screen and bluetooth/aux/handsfree phone calls etc.
Is it worth upgrading my speakers at the same time? My current headunit is on its way out (well its broken...
On the drive home it was 100% 'slower' without a doubt. Since then (in terms of performance) it has been on and off, sometimes feeling slower sometimes feeling normal. I thought on the drive home it was the the ECU getting used to the dump valve (also it was far too soft, opening at low boost...
No other items fitted - hard to tell where its coming from and was only smoking as I was giving it some on the way home (within reason) so don't really want to try to replicate that, could be something repositioned but I can't think what. Yeah the gurgling was in the weeks before new hoses being...
Sorry to hi-jack the thread but after a touch of advice since its relevant to this topic. I have a Widetrack DCCD 2005 STi PPP. Recently just been in for fitting a GFB Respons dump valve/fit silicone radiator hoses. On my way home I smelt burning - assumed it was the plastic burning off the new...
Without being funny, why would you want to use a different bottle anyway?
What lance would you recommend (and foam for that matter if AB foam is shite)?
Recently bought a Nilfisk C120. Been using AF Avalanche atm and finding it decent, but expensive if you want a thick foam.
Been looking at Autobrite lances, and got looking at their snowfoams too - any good? Magifoam or Super snow foam? Any places cheaper than others? Autobrite direct look...
Got to say this car looks fantastic. Never been a huge fan of MX-5s but this one looks really nice, the steering wheel is a nice touch too, I imagine it makes it feel more special to drive.
Just read it through from the beginning, the car just screams of fun. I'm interested about the engine...
I can't see why not, if you've got the vouchers and it's gonna last you 2-3 years, why not spend the extra ~£100 or so if your gonna use it often - makes the extra initial expenditure well worthwhile. I recently bought the C120 PCAD Xtra (whatever the f**k PCAD means - I know extra means it...
I think I will leave it and hope for the best. Might give it a polish (got AF Tripple - good/bad?) if I have the time/weather permits. Without sounding stupid what kind of weather should I avoid claying/polishing in? Obviously if its super foggy and cold, I won't but other than that?
Maybe it was the time of day/weather conditions you applied it in that made it have a different effect to mine. How long you reckon it was left to dwell? Mine must've been 3 minutes tops from when I applied the first area to when I rinsed the said first area.
I might give it a go with clay &...
Yeah was a bad move to do the whole car in one go. So what has it done to my paint, has it damaged it you reckon? It seems like some sort of film has been left, in which case machine polish seems like the answer like you say. Ahhhhh!
A little advice needed - a few nights ago I gave my car a quick wash, snow foamed, shampoo'd and then I sprayed the (wet) car with Hydro2lite all over and rinsed. When I rinsed the Hydro2lite off it left it looking like it had a layer of condensation effect. It was pretty cold and probably had...
Thanks. I'll give that Buffin Stuff Clay a go I think, looks cheap as well at £10.99 for 200g when Megs 50g costs almost the same.
Cleaned my car today and did a first 'detail'.
Rinsed
AF Citrus Power sprayed
Rinsed
AF Avalanche Snow Foam
Rinsed
Two bucket method shampoo
Rinsed
De-Iron (AF...
Looks fantastic bud! This all without any polishing/waxing/claying? If so is very impressive. How long did the whole process take? You are mad for doing it in this weather but i've just ordered a Nilfisk C120 over Black Friday weekend along with some AF Avalanche and a bunch of other products...
