Nothing major, it went into limp mode so I pulled over and switched it off. It then wouldn't start, turns over but won't fire.
It's got compression so either fuel or spark related.
Can hear the pump prime which is brand new as are the injectors so in theory it should be something like a crank...
As with an big turbo it will be far more laggy than a K04 but to be fair, the difference in response is ~500rpm with the same body on a GT2871RS so not huge.
It will spend most it's life on track so the lag isn't a huge issue in honesty as it will be high up in the rev range so the GT3076R...
Yeah PCV was binned but I'm not happy with the setup at the moment so going to install a catch tank rather than venting to atmosphere.
Yeah standard Pistons, they're more than up to the job and I'm not chasing figures and going for 500bhp etc. Just wanted some additional reliable power, hence I...
Thanks man!
Yeah engine had the following work:
144x20 PEC forged rods + ARP bolts
Big End Shells
Head Gasket Set (In/Out Mani, head gasket, rocker seal)
Timing Kit
Water Pump
Piston Rings
Head Bolts
RTV Sealant/Sump Gasket
Oil Pump/Chain
Garrett GT3076R Turbo, T25 Relentless V4 Manifold...
To be honest, the Clio isn't even for sale.. I'm using it as a daily at the moment as the TT is currently being forged and is in a million pieces.
But everything is for sale at the right price.
Update:
So I managed to get the car sorted for Audi Driver International at Castle Combe last weekend.
I ended up replacing the alternator, auxiliary belt and tensioner, brake servo and wiring.
I also fitted a turbo jacket to try and stem some of the heat in the engine bay.
This seems to...
Thanks man, it's nice to have your work appreciated!
Jokes aside, if I was offered a ridiculous amount for the TT I don't think I could let it go even though it's been a hormonal b**ch recently and is a self confessed alcoholic!
No, never heard of it happening before. I can only assume it's this new tubular manifold that's caused the excessive heat in the engine bay.
Going to have to do a few tests and come up with some kind of solution to stop it happening again as it was hands down one of the scariest moments in my...
Thanks for the shot of the TT mate, looks great and I had a butchers at the GT86 - Very nice!
It's not terminal thankfully, the auxillary belt melted from excessive heat, cooked the alternator and wiring and subsequently snapped taking out the brake servo coming into Becketts at 110mph.. Brown...
Thanks man! Yeah I'm glad it happened where it did because that section has a fair amount of run off.
Haha, I'm not sure about that! The driver was a tool and it took the best part of 5 hours to get home!
It was pretty terrifying as I'm always pretty late on the brakes anyway. When the pedal...
Small update, had a trackday at Silverstone over the weekend.
Weather was perfect and the car felt great. Since the last update I have installed a Water Methanol Injection system to try and keep the intake temperature's down as I was previously suffering from detonation at higher revs once the...
Thanks man, I'm very pleased with it!
Exterior was coated in Gyeon Prime, was very impressed with it on the TT so went for it again. Only coated the arches with C2V3, seems to work well and it's nice and durable too.
Thanks fella!
I used GTechniq W5 Citrus Cleaner 1:5, lots of elbow grease with various brushes and Tardis!
Protected with GTechniq C2v3 and plastics dressed with CarPro Perl.
Haha, thanks man!
I like to get cracking, can't have a dirty car. ;)
Thanks man!
It's pretty decent now after correction! Few stone chips and the odd mark here and there but it's completely original paint. Never seen any paint at all which is pretty rare for these!
That's next on the list.. Going to send the inlets etc off for powdercoating as per my previous...
Thanks, it's a nice combo and different to the usual BG and Anthracite.
C5 is brilliant, I've been using it for years. Extremely durable and easy to apply. Only negative is it's very hard to see when applying but that's pretty standard for these type of wheel sealants.
The exhaust is a...
Like a moth to the flame, I accidentally bought another 182 a few weeks ago.
Purchased from Dan @ SJM with a mere 108K on the clock, FSH, both cup packs and just 2 owners from new.
It was not nice at all when I picked it up.. Badman tints, wheels that looked like they had been driven along...
Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciate them.
The car is coming off the road at the end of the month so I can crack on with the Forged build over the winter. The 182 will be taking over!
A few updated photos from Forge Action Day at Castle Combe last weekend.
I attended with AudiTuner magazine and am overjoyed that the car will be featured by them in the November issue.

TT Action Day...
If anyone would like a free ticket/stand pass for this please give me a shout and I'll happily give you mine.
I'm no longer able to attend with the club as AudiTuner Magazine have requested the TT be on their feature display in the main paddock.
