Yeah and to be fair the wheel I supplied was in terrible condition, it really was very poor with the grips having holes in them and falling to bits, I think he had to glue them together to try and get a single piece. Gibson was not impressed with the wheel at all saying something along the lines...
Most cars have a little plunger type switch at back of brake pedal that so when you press it opens and makes connection to make brake lights come on. these normally have a threaded section with locking nut to adjust it, i.e you move it further away so connection is made sooner, closer to make...
They came that colour, the only other Trophy i have seen was the same so I never knew until joining owners club that they were not like that from new :D
But I did add something to them to match what I did with the back of the car.
Although my car has only covered 26K miles the steering wheel was showing signs of wear and TBH felt a little cheap.
I wanted to keep my original steering wheel in my Trophy as not only did I want to keep the cruise control functions, but also the air-bag as many insurance companies are not...
By nervous I mean most road cars are designed to be pretty much inert on the straight ahead, theres a little slack so that when you say drive on a motorway you are not constantly correcting the angle of input on steering wheel, by fitting rear bar this slack was all but removed, though I dialled...
I used a WhiteLine rear adjustable replacement for the standard anti-roll bar on my Celica GT4 ST205 and it was excellent, completely dialled out the understeer and was not detrimental to ride quality at all.
Also fitted front and rear WhiteLine bars to a Suzuki Ignis Sport, it like the Clio...
Very interesting read, and Phil has made some very relevant remarks. A friend of ours, Andy Dawson he used to write for Track & Race car mag and was manager of Nissan Europe Rally team with my partner's Dad, does lots of consultancy work now for everything from race teams to car manufacturers...
I'll try and find some Seicento and FTO pictrues!
And my mistake, the Clio doesn't have electric power steering, the power steering fluid reservior should sat next to collant expansion tank really should have given it away, which explanes why it has much better feel than I expected, still not...
I'm getting a steering wheel re-trimmed for my Trophy in fine grained leather to match the Recaro's though smooth, fine, medium and coarse grains are available, as well as suede or alcantara, choice is yours. Also going for red stitching, and a small red band at TDC like race/rally orientated...
It's hard to judge it against everything else as I'd say the cars are in different categories, but...
The Trophy replaces the Celica as the everyday car so maybe better to make a comparison against it, which is a little unfair as the Celica was £32K new, and mine was not 100% standard, you do...
I've not got any recent pictures of the integrale, most recent are about a year old next to the GT4, and a few from about a year before, but still looks pretty much the same apart from an EVO2 alloy filler cap surround & EVO2 rain gutters, which to anyone outside integrale's cirles means little...
Hi,
Recently purchased a Clio Trophy as my everyday runner to replace my beautiful Toyota Celica GT4 ST205 that only went after someone saw it at a show and asked me how much I wanted, I gave a price he paid it went, it all happened pretty quickly and I was a bit in shock at first. The Clio is...
