All dampers have oil, that is how they damp the oscillations of the spring. The gas pressurising is to stop cavitation of the oil when the damper is working hard.
Then you have twin-tube & mono-tube dampers to further confuse, twin tube like Gaz being cheaper to make, mono-tube like Sachs on...

No the spigots are inexpensive, just ask any OZ dealer to source them for you as it should not be an issue. I think I may have just found sellers on eBay doing the centre caps & asked a few to price up spigot rings giving the centre bore of the wheel after removing the old spigot.
Came in...
I made them. Bought a set of yellow dials, marked the originals to cut out the odometer on it's own, used it as template on the yellow ones and stuck it in.
Got original dial surround covered in carbon fibre by extremeinferno on here, he hadnt done before but i asked him to try & i liked the...
Every OZ wheel I've seen has a common very large centre bore & then OZ alloy spigot ring fitted to suit the application. If they have been on for years they can be hard to remove and if wheels have been painted often hard to make out. But once removed you can buy from any OZ reseller the correct...
Not best picture but only one I have on my phone at work. Retrimmed by Arran in lovely leather, red stiching apart from thumb grips which has black, red TDC marker, really top quality job would highly recommend.
Re: Dimma Clio Cosworth
When I was a student working p/t in my local Safeway (Giffnock south side Glasgow) a guy I worked with Mathew got a Dimma Clio 16V in blue for his 17th birthday. I was 20 with an 8 y/o R5 GTT & remember being a little envious until end of shift & home time as the 5 was...
When you lower any car you will get change in suspension geometry. To measure this effect you need to do a full bump steer check, but in general as you lower a car it increases negative camber.
On the front you can correct the camber with camber correction bolts, I did this recently to a...
Weight & feel are two very different things. With electric assistance the motor is normally attached to the steering column & it's a reactive system so until you input a change it's passive, then it has to catch up giving the numb in straight ahead feel. Manufacturers try and over come this by...
This is true, and can be accessed by any mapper with correct software, hence 160bhp & 180lb ft is available from the off.
The problem with most new cars is electrically assisted steering. It's cheaper to produce and easier to package than hydraulic assisted steering & as it's not parasitic...
Glad you are enjoying the car, I worked on some of the Trofeo Race cars from the series at the start of the season along with my partners dad who also has a Campovola grey 500 Abarth.
The engine is the stand out feature of these cars. Abarth quote 133bhp & 155lb ft as standard, though we have...
I'm about to take delivery of Mark Fish products which consist of a full set of springs & rear adjustable Koni dampers which Mark re-valves so that they can be adjusted much firmer than standard for track work when used in conduction with the front Sachs dampers 'unpinned' which allows they to...
Yeah still have my integrale, and I gave my Ignis to my mum, I cringe every time I see the state of the optional 16" San Remo alloys it had fitted, or cracked front optional fog light
The GT4 was great, and as said the only GT4 that I ever came across that had the gorgeous red TRD front seats...
I have same user name on GT4OC as here, but let my membership lapse. My car was on the stand at last years club stand at Jap Tuning Show @ Silverstone.
I loved my GT4, it also had genuine C-one motorsport front lip (Fensport do copy as does some guy on club now) & rear which going from...
I sold my late 1996 facelift JDM ST205 GT4 which you may have seen pictures of if you were a member of GT4OC. White with black 18" OZ Super T's lots of rare genuine optional extras; red TRD front seats, projector headlamps, Toyota/MOMO steering wheel, silver dash panels, alloy pedal covers...
Re: iPhone "must have" apps

Fixing buckled, cracked, bent wheels is easy for proper wheel repair place, it's what rally teams do when working on budget as magnesium wheels are very expensive new so repairing is cheaper.

there are others but these are two I have...
As of Jan this year there are now 50 insurance group classifications, so the Twingo being 18 is low as the Clio 182 is now 33 IIRC & Fiat 500 Abarth is 26 fit Essesse kit & it's 28.
it's not been widly publicised but all insurance companies have to use the new guidlines & there is no clear cut...

The Sachs suspension is the stand out feature of the Trophy model.
The whole damper unit is of a higher standard than is normally found on a car in this price range.
The damper shaft is much thicker than a normal damper rod, this means there is much less flexing of the shaft meaning a more...
Car looks fantastic.
Did you get the front dampers rebuilt by Ben @ BG Motorsport Ltd Silverstone, the UK authorised ohlins & Sachs service centre?
I'm dropping mine off tomorrow for refurbishment, and getting the adjuster fitted on the remote reservoir so the compression is adjustable from...
Renault have gone even further with the steering wheel in the Twingo Gordini, which may or may not give some ideas to owners looking to refresh there tired wheel knowing the manufacturer has done something similar themselves ie the Racing Blue 182's.
To quote Renault press blurb;
The...
Thank you.
I really didn't like the fact that there were four different type faces used on the various badges on the car, one for "Renault", one for "Sport", then "Clio" and of course "Trophy" in fact you could say that the 2.0L 16V is yet another type face, it's a bit untidy.
I therefore...
Yes, I bought a 2nd hand wheel, posted that down and he posted back (took about 10days in total IIRC) this meant I didn't need to take my car off the road. this also gave me option that if I really didn't like it, or wanted to do another slightly differently I could use my original wheel which...
Yeah username rings a bell. Thanks for comments on my car, it is tucked up for winter now in the garage. Recently sold my Celica GT4 ST205 and bought a Clio Trophy as my daily hack, great little car, really enjoying it, reminds me of my old R5GTT's that I run & my Series 1 106 Rallye, must be a...
