In case anyone has the same symptoms in the future, i'll keep this updated...
I bought the GSF coilpack for £29 today. My car seems to run smoother, and the idle is definitely better. I'm not 100% sure my issue has been sorted(as the light has only come on once), but my car is running better...
I'm after a new coilpack and i've seen that ECP and GSF both do a "standard" coilpack and a Bremi branded one.
Does anyone know the difference? Is is worth the extra(50% more) for the Bremi one?
On the way home tonight I had the squiggly coil light come on (not flashing) and a loss of power.
I pulled into the petrol station, filled up(42 litres so the car wasn't empty) and the light didn't come back on. The car drove normally the rest of my way home.
I assume this is ignition related...
I had the "pedal to the floor" on mine. It turned out my caliper slider pins were seized. About 10 mins of squirting wd40 in and hitting with a hammer I managed to free them. I cleaned them up and put grease on the sliders and my brakes were biting at the top for the first time.
My 60k 182 cup had much better condition seats and steering wheel. I'd want proper proof that the mileage is genuine as I wouldn't expect that much wear on the advertised mileage.
I changed my dogbone mount for a poly bush recently. I was looking at pics after I had done it, and realised that my car is missing a part that bolts onto the bottom of the front bush. I've highlighted the missing part here:
Does anyone know what the part is called, and what it's for?
I had airbag and Serv light on mine the other day after I had moved the front passenger seat around to carry stuff. Quick fiddle with wire under seat and no issues since.
No pics of front, rear and passenger side though. I assume you've viewed it? Struggle to go too wrong for around £1k with...
I do a 46 mile round trip. Some motorway, some country lanes and i've averaged just under 38mpg since i've had the car. Heck, I got 39mpg with a Kayak on the roof! I don't hang about either. It's a perfect balance of economy and fun for that length of commute in my opinion. For motorway miles...
I have one. It's utterly crap. Not sure where to start. I'll be getting rid asap.
It's really really noisy(boomy). I reckon 2-3x louder than standard. It gets louder as the engine warms up. I'd hate to sit in the back of my car.
The mounts are in the wrong places. I spent an hour bending them...
Not able to comment on higher mileage 182's, but I came from a ZS 180 to my Clio, and I get about 6-7mpg more driving the same route and the same style.(31-32mpg ish compared to 38-39mpg on the Clio). I suspect I may drive the Clio quicker as it feels better at speed.
539 in total- of which 168 are inferno and 371 are Racing Blue.

The back end on mine is planted- it just "feels" floaty. My brake pads are made by "delphi". I've never heard of them, and a quick google suggests they are the cheapest pads you can buy. I'll sort them soon enough.
I've never said that they were that bad. I'm just responding to the thread title "things I dislike about my car".
Strangely, I have next to no rattles in mine- the thing I thought would annoy me the most!
