Cheers for that, will have a look round there and see.
Cant decide if a slightly more varied focal length would be beneficial or not.
Fixing it seems possible if it is a ribbon cable, but fiddly.
Thought I would drop this one in here.
It seem the AutoFocus motor on my Cannon 18-55 lens has given up. It is just the standard kit lens that I got when I bought my 550D several years ago.
Was after some advice if it was worth seeing about fixing it or just getting a replacement lens?
Could be up for it.
Was meant to be going the week after to round of this term, unlikely I would be able to do both.
What you thinking - arrive and drive? or trying for a f1 sprint or something?
Bonnet looks like abit of attention wouldn't go amiss as well.
I know someone who works at a body shop as a sprayer so can try and get the details if you want. Of course dependent on what you are wanting to have done would depend if they were competitve
You only drove past, but no xenons (being the quick way to tell) it could have been a 1.2 with a noisy exhaust for all I knew at the time .
But as you have proved a good clean has made it come up well
Edit: I wouldn't have known it was you from reading this and seeing the yellow bullets...
I saw this the other day, part of me didn't think it was a true 172, or I didn't want to believe it, (it was dark at the time)
As others have said, personally I would have kept the flamer.
It is down the distance and what I have spare, and this month is looking bleak.
I have no real preference, if there is something on that interests me I will consider going regardless of which group. Feel free to pm if there is anything /reason though.
Was maybe Thursday. At the pedestrian crossing on north hill, just as I was walking home I noticed you go past. Meant to do a spotted thread but didn't.
Had noticed my drivers side xenon headlight not always working, or works fine then after driving for 30 mins it has stopped working, or rapidly turning the lights on and off would cause it to not work.
Thought it might have been the ballast failing, so changed that but got the some problem...
Can get cheap turbos off ebay, still the making it work side is where the cost is, the turbo is just another part. Still need a different exhaust manifold, pipework and mapping to get it to run correctly (or safely)
O and nice to see you back around mate
Never bought 197 ones so dont know what variants they have with regards to the xenon ballasts etc.
Someone else may know, or you would have to ask the supplier but chances are they wont have any ballast in the headlights, so you would have to get them separtely and they probably wont be cheap...
The projector light units usually have the additional conering lights (did on my 200 and my 07 tce model), as the car didnt come specced from factory with them, the wiring loom is not there.
Ha nor am I!
Did have a check round and things seemed alright. Just hope it sort of holds together long enough so it can all go in for a refresh when the belts are done.
guysy Today it has been quiet and not made any noise at all. Tried full lock and gently moving off, not had the noise replicated at all. Only noise I had was a loud clunk noise when coming off full left lock
Have a ticking / clicking noise coming from my drivers side. Happens when moving, more noticeable at lower speed, happens when wheel is straight and when turning.
Had the wheel off, nothing seemed loose, or leaking. Didnt make the noise if I spun the hub by hand.
Possbile suggestions have been...
