Rare as in you don't need vented on a light car with the MI-16 calipers all it achieves is adding weight
the object is loose unsprung weight
these were mine , solid , on ali bells and holes like a swiss cheese
It wont have huge effect at road speed , but understeer if geo is set right isnt so bad unless at 60+
The aero of a 7 type car is that of a brick anyway

Indeed , and the ones without tend to cause alot of front lift.
In the ones i have driven on track it causes lots of intial understeer

Thats not a bad price ... depending on who built it
The torque and ability to give big power is so much better than a k series
I drove my mates 300bhp duratec and it was a total weapon

Current one looks made to be a convinient fit
A good balance one will look like this

A 2.0 stock with the right chokes in the bodies and a good exhaust manifold will give about 175 tops
Ported head
After that your looking at cams with vernier pulleys
And you will see 210bhp
I ended up with just under 500kgs , 240ish bhp
And lots of carbon

Nice looking car
@Waitey the mt75 box isnt quite as rifley like as a type 9
As for tuning potential James there is 250bhp in a zetec on bodies .
What ecu is it running and what chokes in the bodies , find that out first.
I suspect you wont gain much on mapping as it will have been done for...
In fact closer look is thats a badly fitted zeemax kit on a 911sc from the look of it
So many things wrong its unreal and looking at the mot fails a rotten moneypit hidden under tacky cheap fibregass

Something very iffy about that
To me looks like a zeemax flat nose kit.
Also rubber bumpers were first made in 74 when thats registerd june 72
Was it lhd ?

Not wishing to sound flippant but , an RS ford , loosing water and needing the block replaced , welcome to the 90's cosworth lumps cracking blocks , blowing head gaskets , and warping were part and parcel of my cosworth ownership and many others ...........
Though this does sound like its...
Or you could build a car that had bits of both !!
My car was involved in solicitors letters and threats against a manufacturer of carbon parts as between us we copied the first rear arches in carbon
There are only 2 cars with them and pretty much only ever will be.
Caterhams hold huge value...
Thats not bad for a k , but dave knows his stuff as we replaced the lotus ecu on our last elise with emerald
Dave and Dave breathed on that one and it was quick
Wait till you find a need for 250bhp ;-) then you will need those 9" rears

yep Janspeed made the original sports exhausts for the 160 and 190 cars ,
as for Idle
7 minutes in and thats running emerald ECU and has the verinier pulleys fitted to smooth it out a bit ...... I know as thats my old car , (not with me in the video i hasten to add ) and mine is the first...
I would be stunned if that 340R isn't running a modified head gasket and steel dowls ? as i know a fair few 340r owners from when they were new and non of the VHPD engines (the 190) in any car it was put in didn't have issues
and the 190 idiles way nicer than the sport 160 lump .
In some ways the K series was ahead of its time , however its also had some major design flaws , that came about due to keeping the weight down
The list of issues
Thermostat design that allowed shock cold temp water to head
Poor quality gasket head gasket
Manufacturing problems that gave...
what i hadnt spotted and he must have arrived later was a ferrari 250 SWB
they left together , so clearly knew each other

Nice spot tonight at the gym
parked in the carpark in the wet and rain was a 62 e type lightweight
its a genuine car as the reg brought up details on a couple of sites

i would look at switching the aeroscreen on track for visibility and aero i found the fluke carbon lip (caterham style) worked better and i tried both
i had about the same power to weight as you and could pull into the 140's at spa .
the biggest aero help other than the screen is to flat...
oooh thats a tidy one
is it a narrow live axle though ?
Nice spec engine.
some work to be done still ,get rid of those drums, swap your wheels over and swap the carbon
also very useful its not on a q plate though it can have some mot drawbacks

I know a man who does what your are talking about , though 4k is not where his normal builds are they are a bit higher .
he is based in spain but it might be a good contact
