But is it? In the past, that Superb would probably have had a normally aspirated 2.0-litre with about 130-140bhp. With TDI torque, the diesel will probably feel quicker to most people. Not to mention that most people don't give a monkey's uncle anyway.
I did read somewhere that it was sub-5000 cars globally in 2019. Not big numbers given the development costs.
A friend of mine has one. I think they look lovely personally. Simple, and a nice blend of retro and modern. Sadly, he has also had paint and corrosion issues already, so that would put...
Has the A110 been very successful? I got the impression that it hadn't sold that well.
Is that the case though? Cars are faster than they've ever been. VW shipped thousands of Golf Rs, Ford did the same with the Fiesta ST. Access to high performance has never been greater. You can see why the...
I can't say I understand this sporting sub-brand thing to be honest. Seat did it a while ago with Cupra, but does anyone actually care? Do buyers even really notice when they're buying it from the same dealership? Do folk that buy a Cupra Ateca tell people they have a Cupra, or do they just have...
Been a while since I updated this. Gave it a clean today and my friend took some snaps:
Probably be the last pictures of it sadly. A job overseas means I don't really need a car here anymore, so it will be sold soon.
Hyundai have probably had a big hand in reviving the WRC over the last year. They've put a lot of energy into it. Toyota coming back was a big boost too. Akio Toyoda is a big rally man though.
The last few seasons have actually been the best, probably since the McRae/Burns era. Just a shame...
I think both Toyota and Hyundai are making a lot of the more traditional brands look a bit silly. Hyundai have really injected some much-needed fun back into a hot hatch sector that's become dominated by number-obsessed, grey boxes, while Toyota really seem to be rediscovering their mojo.
Definitely. I've all but given up with my local one. Far too many old farts who can't see that the world has moved on. The club system should be totally overhauled. I'd just have regional clubs instead of having multiple clubs in every county.
I reckon we'll be back up and running later this year. The worry for me is how long they last before the environmentalists kill them off. The lack of interest in trying to at least look like we care about sustainability is frightening. Forestry England have already said we need to clean up our...
I suspect so. Having driven a 740 through the Alps to Italy, and a 940 turbo around much of the UK's exciting roads, I can't say I'm in a hurry to drive another 😂
Adored the 850 T-5 I had though, and my V70 D5 was a decent barge too, if a bit expensive for parts.
