I just can’t stress enough how important mounting harnesses correctly is. It’s not about getting cuntbook or instagay likes - this is about keeping yourself, your passenger and the poor c**t you drive into safe. It f**king rattles me to the point of micra rage @Scrooge

Anyone who mounts harnesses incorrectly deserves the wheelchair tbqfh. If you’re going for aesthetics - go for it. But when it comes to safety critical items, there’s absolutely no cutting corners. You’d need to be a coin flicker to do anything less.

Cheers mate. Lol I don’t think there’s a day that goes by that I don’t speak to Tom tbf! 😂 Yeah there’s a hole or 2 that needs blocking off mate, but I’ll be covering that through the build process. At least people will be able to see what the craic is when fitting one. 👍🏻

    Rear Strut Braces

The angle that the harness slopes down at is vitally important. I can’t recall the specific angles, but much below 45 degrees and you’ll compress your spine in a front end impact. That means you’ll be crippled, or potentially worse. I’m also not part of a rally service team, but I do have a...

Good luck. The kits are incomplete and that means either sourcing the oil pickup pipe, or fabricating one.

    Where to buy gearbox/diff circlip

It all comes down to your welding skills. Any welding debris that makes it’s way into the box, will also cause significant damage.

Lockdown update #3 Had a spare hour this afternoon after the wife took over from daddy daycare, so went in the garage to get the block pulled apart. Here you can see the oil squirt delete better, and we also have some improvements to the block in terms of reducing crankcase pressure. And a...

Just another M3, this time with a V8.

@-Rob what issues are you having with the battery mate? Has the car been ‘told’ it’s got a different battery on it? If it hasn’t, it may have issues charging it at the correct rate. The alternator doesn’t charge in the same way as a ‘normal’ car.

    Engine rebuild tolerances

The best blocks are the ones that have seen some heat cycles. Then they need checking for straightness of bores and journals, and machining if they’re out.

You’ll have to google it mate! It’s a simple task of measuring fluid volume in cc’s, a bit of maths and you have your answer.

Lockdown update #2 I needed to calculate the compression ratio just in case any adjustments were needed, and it will also be needed come mapping time. So here’s a few pictures taken during the calculations for the cylinder cc. Working it out is a bit of a pain with the dome of the piston...

So the ph1 crank is the best crank. Then the 197, and followed by the 182 crank. The ph2 172 crank is still rubbish.

Forgot about these little bits 🤦🏻‍♂️ So we have had a re-design of the cam sensor. I was concerned that the pick up trigger wasn’t going to be large enough. This led to what we now have for the sensor - same position on the end of the cam, just in a different orientation. Don’t worry! That’s...
