I think you'd use the same amount via a spray bottle as you would mixing the likes of G101 with warm water in a lance bottle, you may even use slightly less doing it through a lance.     Respray them, give them a good sanding down then prime and paint. Did mine years ago, although you could pay someone to do it and have them in custom colours with different coloured lettering. Was someone on here who offered that service...???
