Bluetooth phone

My car has Bluetooth phone capabilities as it has the old phone slot for charging etc, don't have the phone or anything just the slot. Its in a 2005 E46 BMW if that helps.

my question is, if the phone has Bluetooth connectivity surely this means Bluetooth exists within the car. Therefor is it possible to use this for music, a chap looking to buy my car has asked if he can play music via the Bluetooth.

depends if it accepts bluetooth music streaming , my old audi had bluetooth phone but no music playing , my new volvo does both .....

gut feeling is doubtful on an 06

if its the BMW Bluetooth, then no it cant stream music as it doesn't support the profile.
