I didn't want the cup packs as I plan on coilies, I want low lol. If you want to lower the car then imho cup suspension doesn't really add much to the car as you will be changing it anyway
I would say go with the FF, suspension upgrades are easy enough to come by and having been in both it is nicer in the FF. Recaro's are a must tho imo ;)
yeah well its going to be running little over 250 i hope so I think it'll be gradual progression in corners rather than just throwing it in lol. It will hopefully see it 1st outing with the new engine on a track anyway so hopefully whatever happens wont be bad or anything...
yeah it does have an LSD, the seats pretty heavy but also nice and comfy lol. The back end is going to be quite light I imagine but all part of the fun...
heh...
Vroom!
yesterday me and a friend took the rest of the interior out, I'm leaving in the dash and will get some daytona's im thinking at some point, heres the pics:
stupid sound deadening glued to floor :(
Coming up, cleaning all the messier bits out on the interior eg the sound deadening and...
yep, all to be done later this week I think provided the weather holds out. whats the best way of stripping it? I dont have eleccy at the garage so was thinking scraper and then hammerite when finished.
Ok, rear fully stripped. I trying to decide how much more I wanna take out but tbh I think I'll be happy with dash and centre console staying, carpets out and maybe door cards out but I dunno. Anywho, todays progress:
As has been said the car handles brilliantly without the cup packs and its not massively higher. I cant imagine the ride comfort at 30% stiffer though
Here are a couple of pics of mine on standard 197 suspension
sticking with CA18DET, but like said rebuild and some bolt on horses ftw :D
It was too wet for me to bother with the rest of the interior today so we'll see how im doing after british superbikes tomorrow and try get some more work done.
yeah I agree me and my mate went out today to have a bit of fun and between my 197 and his 172 for straightline speed it was all about who got on the power 1st. didn't test handling due to typical wetness so couldn't say about that really.
^Yeah, it made sense in my head at the time though...
Right, work has restarted on the S13 now so quick update from the last few months:
I put on an Apex Performance exhaust, 3" or 3.5" bore from cat back and soon to be new front pipe with decat
All was good for a few more weeks then...
I know that they aren#t built to last for ever however Im confident that this will last. I never really had any major problems with my mk2, just an annoying as hell sunroof lol. This isn't an issue in the 197. The build quality isn't amazing but I mean that things dont feel solid and a lot of...
I quite like the 1.2 Turbo, the engine is quite nice and keen. I drove in the twingo so not sure if the twingo is slightly quicker or whatever but I was pretty impressed
