As already said, good Dc2's are commanding 'scene' tax and people are clocking that and pricing them as such.
The reality is, driven at 10/10th's neither would be noticeably quicker, you'll just pay less for a Trophy.
Do not waste your time banking on a Clio holding its value unless its a seriously seriously low mileage well pampered garage queen that's a 5th/6th car. You'll be thoroughly wasting your time.
Buy on condition/preference!

As per 172's - they've plummeted, ideally, £1500 - £1750/18 for a good conditioned well maintained example is within grasp i'd say. That said, 182's are now falling into 2.5/3k territory for what i'd consider...
