I would at least think of doing one, just so you can drive the car in a way it was meant to be driven...in a safe environment.
A fast 50mm is good fun, so is a macro lens.
Don't waste your money on pointless accessories like UV filters etc.
A wide angle wouldn't be one of the first lenses I would get, quite a specialised lens.
It also depends on what you want to take photos off too :)
Walked into O2 store whilst in town today just on the off chance that they had some in.
Walked out with a 32GB black, last one in store.
First impression, this thing needs a case otherwise it'll get covered in marks.

As a keen photographer, it is pretty impressive it does it that well and quickly.
Even in tricky and complex places, like the one above....it rarely causes any weird artefacts.
