Great choice I had a mk3 as a daily and for track use. They’re bargains for sub 2k. Check the drain holes aren’t blocked for the soft top gutter, and get a trombone brush if they need cleaning (eBay)
Want any pads for it get in touch
for future reference I can sort the calipers, along with rear discs, pads etc, make sure the garage know about the little spacers being fitted/refitted as they're still catching people out these http://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/renault-brake-discs-washer-spacer-rear-renaultsport-clio-172-182.html
No worries mate! Get them bedded in properly when get chance.
They're decent for their cost, think you can only get the harder compound now so should wear ok aswel
there's RS Tuning in Leeds, or EFI in Runcorn know their stuff
I can supply various set ups for your Golf and regularly supply owners brakes who have put different set ups from other models in the VAG range. What ever route you want to go I can get you sorted @Toby
Correct fitment and bedding in makes a difference to these and most other uprated pads for the 172/182. They want to have room to expand when hot, 1mm of vertical play when cold will do it
welcome along @jdlunt , send me a PM Jack, I can get you sorted with your brakes and other parts. Various options depending on budget, spec of car, driving style , if wanting one pad for both , or to swap out for road and track etc etc
Using the cars hard on track, espeiclaly with sticky tyres puts extra stress on the bearings
The bearings are designed for a certain preload (175NM) on them, fit the spacer Tapered side Towards car and re-torque the nuts to that
