Hi all
After considerably lowering my car the steering seems to be less responsive and I'm having to turn a lot more more than before to make the car turn corners.
Just wondering if this is normal to happen with lowered cars as it does seem quite a lot more turn is needed.
Just want to make sure...
Thanks and I never thought about the grille may have to look into that one ;)
And I was thinking about the bumper at one point but not sure if it would make a huge difference to the look from behind,
Hey, just thought I'd put a few pics of my 1.2 mk2 on. Had it for 6 months now and have slowly done bits to it. I know it's only a 1.2 but for insurance purposes I will be keeping it for a while hopefully so may as well make the most of it and will also help me gain experience.
Obviously I like...
Right, about four months ago after much debating i purchased some "cheap" coilovers from ebay as I didn't like the way my clio looked or drove as I felt it rolled too much in the corners.
I didn't want to spend an awfull lot as at the end of the day it is still only a 1.2. After a bit of...
Hi guys just looking for some advice ( 1.2 2003 clio). My circlip from the diff has come off. Now my issue is that it is no where to be seen so it must have dropped into the gearbox. Now I think I had drove a little distance since the clip had come off unknowingly with all gears being fine until...

I know they are only cheap but they seem to have fairly good reviews considering the price.
I got them from a mate, we were meant to be fitting them but he wrote off his clio before...
I presume my options if the coilover are defintly fitted correctly are to either get something like these:
Or get slots drilled in the coilovers extending the original holes backward which would be a definite last resort??
I was just wondering if someone could help me out,
I have recently fitted coilovers to my 1.2 clio and have just been experimenting with the heights, I have now got it where I like and is still practical (just).
Now my tracking is out and all needs sorting but also I seem to have noticeable...
Just realised that that is the baring that I thought was still in, that's why I was getting confused....... silly me,
Am I right in saying it goes top of coilover, baring, rubber hat, nut, washer (next to baring in photo) , car then top nut. Also missing out the rubber that is on the end of my...
Hi I was just looking for some help from any of you who have fit coilover kits on a 1.2 clio.
Basically I removed the old spring and shock arrangement and after fitting the coilover seemed to have some bits left over (photos below ). I am quite capable when it comes to my car I have changed and...
Cheers I'll be taking it in as soon as possible,
I've had them on for a good few days now and today a knocking sound has started when I turn the wheel from one side to another any ideas what could be causing this??
Been driving about today, I think it's just the different feel of the car that I need to get used to. A full alignment should also help things I would presume.
Not yet, I need a full alignment doing to it as the steering wheel is slightly off centre but it was like that before the coilovers.
Is it something normal to be steering a considerable bit more after lowering even by the small amount that mine has?? (20mm)
Hi guys I was just wondering if there is any way of improving my steering response. I have just put coilovers on my mk2 1.2 and I am very pleased with the way it corners. My only issue is that I am finding I have to turn the wheel further than I used to to corner. Is there any way to sort this...
Since I bought my car I've always thought changing gear felt rough and jerky, as it was a first car and I was a new driver I presumed it was just my driving that needed to improve. Over time my driving has being and still is improving but my clio still felt rough to drive no matter how carefully...
No mine are like the opposite, I've tried a few times and they barely lock up, if they do its just before my foot goes through the firewall lol, they are just not responsive enough and feel rough when I brake hard.
As you would have guessed I have a 1.2 clio mk2 (2003) and I am not happy with my brakes, I have recently had new pads but my front discs have a lot of ware on them, probably due to the fact there were basically no pads left when I bought the car.
They also seem to feel spongy and unresponsive...
I have a 1.2 mk2 and just changed the number plate bulb to led, i also decided it was a good idea to clean the connections with the car still on so oops fuse blown.
it took some finding, on my car it was the fuse that controlled all the left hand side lights (apart from main head lights), the...
