More tinkering lately, have the MOT booked for later on today, so needed to make sure everything was working ok ...
Coincidentally, the car hadnt really been charging the battery properly since it went to BMW for its B+ cable recall (it actually cut out on the motorway as well, which was...
So yesterday marked the end of our journey with the Boxster.
After 3 thoroughly enjoyable years, i had really began to question the amount of cash tied up in the car vs. the amount of use it was getting, so being that it wasnt likely to get much use over the winter either, i tentatively...
As above, unsure how i missed this before!! Dakar is an epic colour.
Shame about the warranty ... its a sh1t load cheaper if you take it out sub 60k via direct debit, but i guess its not in BMW's interest to tell you that lol.
Id spend £1400 on getting the rod bearings done at Evolve instead...
lol, not in this i havent!! The LCI seats have silver stiching, so wood just wouldnt work ;)
No real updates on the car though - done about 2k in it since purchase (is now on 235k), mostly scooting up/down the M3 to Basingstoke to see Sarah's parents. Currently averaging 43mph, which considering...
Haha!! I hate the plain silver in the e90, plus this was cheaper than the silver hex stuff, soooo.....
Nearly bought piano black, but it had come out of an M3 so no centre console :(
It looks better in real life than the photos tbh - even i dont like it in the photos lol.
Interior parts arrived, not my first choice of wood (its Light Walnut), but Burr Walnut is nigh on impossble to find for the LCI CIC controller ...

And the award for the "most specialist old sheddy volvo" driveway car trader award goes to @leeds_182
All i can say is at least its not a 340/360, my god those things are sh1t :ROFLMAO:
Not gonna lie, i love @-Rob Abarth thats for sale: https://www.cliosport.net/threads/abarth-500-esseesse-£5300.827082/
Whereas i sold my 197 after 3 weeks and generally forget that i even owned the thing :ROFLMAO:
For road, id pick the Abarth, for track, probably the 197.
Yeah, the hidden menu stays on until you turn the car off iirc.
Re: the other stuff, genuinely, i would advise using BWChiptune (they can map remotedly on a dyno), yes, it may cost a bit more than elsewhere, but they do it properly. So many people just dump a load of fuel in and it smokes like...
Id say its probably a bit cold, think mine tends to be high 80's/low 90's - have a browse of this: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=625736
Sarah's Dad and I buy it in bulk when its on offer (their TT 3.2/A8 4.2 use it as well), no chance that id pay £55 for 4L or whatever it is normally!!
For comparison, I paid £60 delivered for 20L of Shell Helix ultra Professional 5W30 for the 335d recently :ROFLMAO:
Sorry for delayed response!
I tend to use Castrol Edge 5W30 LL04 as we use it in both the TT and the BM's, so buy it in bulk when its on offer.
Its circa 6.5L litres, so 2x4L tubs leaves a little left over for top ups (y)
This basically. The previous owner had already tried that before he sold it to @leeds_182 :ROFLMAO:
New owner needs to fire the parts cannon at it me thinks.
Shame. I quite liked this thing!!! Although with regards to the £900, im not sure you can blame the car for that ...
Ok, that is annoying, but these things often happen with buying someone elses car, as they are quite often selling it due to issues, so in effect you needed the garage to do the...
Funny you should say that ... a friend has had his 335d redone recently (wasnt happy with the smoke from the old tune on cold start). Turns out they hadnt turned off the EGR properly  Black line is standard, blue is old file, red is latest BWChiptune version. Needless to say, his is a...
I'm also in 2 minds, mine was serviced a while back, but id thought about doing it again in preparation for XHP ...
After reading around a bit more, im not so sure!!
As @f0xy says, its deffo a workshop job as it needs to be level/at the correct temperature. Do it on the driveway and it will...

Not sure it was ever used in the e90/91, just the e92/93 (y)
My Z4 knowledge is lacking im afraid :giggle:
Not a problem at all, always happy to help out where i can!
First thing to do imho (if you dont already have it), is buy a bcables D-CAN silver cable and download the free diagnostics software from here: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1204192 it will literally save you thousands.
Ha ha, is a nice car this! By the time i saw it for sale you'd bought it, otherwise it would be me making this thread and retrofitting CIC :ROFLMAO:
FYI this has the very rare N52K engine (same power as N53, but reliability of the N52), so if you do ever come to sell it, make sure you advertise...

Not much of an update, but have now swopped out the JBE and finished off the CIC installation inc. re-coding the headunit from Base to L7 output using NCS Dummy. Just missed out on a combox earlier on for £100, sold in the time it got listed, i added it to myebay, then went and made a coffee...
My project thread was here: https://www.cliosport.net/threads/sir_daves-trophy-1-x-miley-shed.518656/
I sold it to a mate, he sold it to a chap called kelv. He turned it into a track car and his mate blew it up at bedford.
Its probably still sat in his lockup. Tried to buy it back a few times...
