Doing a bit of maintenance/refresh work on my 172, got some cooksport springs, two track rod ends and I'm looking at replacing the ball joints at the same time.
After having a good search about it seems to be a bit confusing which size the phase 1's use.
Can anyone shed some light onto this...
Had a quote from birchdown a while ago but I could do with calling them again and double checking. Il send you a pm when I do! Sc auto electrics also do the belts on these. Maybe worth a call there as they're next door to Chorley st garage

Im from Chorley so not too far from yourself, Just wondering where your planning to get it aligned and set up etc.
Track car on a budget will always get out of hand though ;)
jesus I'm from Chorley so not too far from yourself and have been wondering similar questions as I'm about to get a set of springs on my ph1.
Where are you getting it done and at what price if you don't mind me asking.
Cheers
Have a BTB modified 182 CAT. I believe this has the 2.5 dis pipe welded for a more freer flow.
Any ideas what its worth? I know the previous owner paid almost £200 for it.
After getting the fault code read by Renault clip, it came back as an open circuit in the steering wheel.
I took the airbag off and checked all connections but they seem ok.
Struggling to see what the issue might be here
Its a ph1 172 if that makes any differance
Cheers
I have a set of renault F1 wheels, they were used on track so can't comment if they've 100% true but there didn't seem to be any vibration on track. They've got a set of AD08 tyres on the originals not the "R' version. Wheels are in good condition, one or two marks on them. Give me a message if...
"What is it about ph1's. You start off kind of liking 182s and not liking ph1s then a year later and all you want is a ph1 172, it's like a contagious virus, and I love it!"
Thats exactly how it worked out for me!
Mine went a little funny similar to this when i had the inlet off to do the plugs, double check the gaskets are sealed properly and the throttle cable is free to move without jamming.
Mine only did it intermittently so might be hard to spot
Hi,
Got the generic airbag and serve light up on my clio, also an intermittent immobiliser fault.
Also a spare key that needs coding.
Wondering wheres best and also relatively well priced in the north west that can help solve these.
Cheers!
Just bought my first renaultsport clio.
Now i know that they are renowned for their poor standard seat position, however apart from removing the spacer to get the seat lower, has anyone been able to adjust the mounts to get them to sit further back?
Im 6ft 3, and although its not too bad, it...
Hi,
Just bought myself a phase 1 172.
The previous owner started to fit Mark Fish solid top mounts to the car, then decided not to as per regulations of a sprint series.
This means that one side has three holes drilled and the other does not. Im looking into solid top mounts as i plan on...
Going away from the obvious, my old car used to mist up inside due to an old pollen filter. Using the blowers normally would take an age to clear the windows, using the air con it would demise quickly but the only long term solution was the pollen filter.
May/ may not be something to consider.
