Box of swan vestas sounds appealing
Ill have a good look round as it does seem much like an air leak to me as it usually starts first crank. Was it a leakoff pipe?
Updates.
The long crank is back on the blue dci.
To set the scenario. Car is in regular use and if driven daily, starts first crank on a morning and after running never fails to start.
But, if you start it up, and move it a short distance i.e. to the front of the drive and shut it down and...
Updates.
Weathers turned crap so decided to go back to stock wheels for a couple of months.
Planned on doing it on sat but far too cold
Sunday was better so loaded up the R26 van with original wheels on linglong gallopalong shite tyres and good used michelin ps5 that i was given a while back...
Small boring update.
A bit of prep for winter layup.
Fired up and ran up to temp as need to drive onto small ramps to get the jack underneath. Fired up first time as if it had ran yesterday.
Jacked up and ph1 225 wheels fitted, ds1.11 front brake pads removed and stock brembo pads fitted...
Its had plenty of use recently. 26mpg max drinking the juice.
Commute to the office.
Stripped out rear is good for shopping and moving stuff.
Thanks for reading!!
Updates
Intercooler on the r26 was a crap tube and fin gpi, chinas finest which looked terrible and performed as s**t as it looked from datalogs, 20+deg above ambient temps on boost. On turbo cars low charge temps are always king to keep the engine happy with nice cool dense air, which releases...
Yeah the oil should be moving when engine is running. Im unsure if it will cause a problem. Probably worth checking level whilst sump is off with a few ltrs of water to see where it sits.
Run Cup2 connect on my kangoo. Doesnt take much to switch them on, and wet grip is suprisingly good. You will have no problems running them on the road.
Ps5 are also worth considering. Turn in is really good as stiffer sidewalls over ps4.
Updates.
In earlier updates i changed the lower part of the turbo return pipe due to oil leaking onto the manifold. Not enough for massive concern but enough to cause a whiff of oil when pulling up at traffic lights.
When lower part of oil return pipe was replaced, noted chemi metal all over...
O.e or aftermarket?
All made of finest chinesium thin steel now i guess.
On the older cars they used to stick closed which was bad so id say breaking or sticking open is the better out of the two, but still sh*te.
Updates
Super busy but managed an hr on the r26 today to sort the drivers side window.
The window was working when i bought it but failed. Stripped it down and briefly worked when the wiring was moved. Assumed temic module or motor was knackered so stuck it back together and purchased a 2nd...
I was going to suggest modifying the scale in hex as seen it done on meg rs. Certainly interesting stuff mate, i quite enjoyed doing a bit of that on my kangoo immob chip.
Sold my old front sachs for £700 in similar condition, no springs or top mounts and needed refurb. £500 is cheap for a full set with springs.
From what Haswell said he wasnt impressed with them either, reckons the bilstein b14s that are fitted now are just as good, if not better.
Done a bit more today.
Bumper undertray was missing which was not helping with airflow to the rad pack. Expensive as fcuk to buy new for a flat bit of plastic and unobtanium 2nd hand unless buying a full bumper.
I bought a povo spec megane bumper undertray which was no where near when offered...
Ahh good old french shorthand on Renolink. I too have accidently lost settings doing simillar on the r26, dash was like an xmas tree for a short while
