I rekon it will be your inner tie rods as I had exactly the same fault!!! Disconnect your track rod end from your hub and the tie rod should hold your track rod end in any position you put it !! If it drops or is floppy your inner tie rods are knackered.....
Hi Guys
I have noticed recently that when I start my 182 up in the morning (cold engine) i get a very strong petrol smell as if its running really rich!!
It doesn't misfire and revs etc fine but stinks!!!
Any ideas as to what it could be???

The inner tie Rod is the arm that attaches to the steering rack and the track rod end is the part that attaches to the hub assembly (metal with a ball joint and rubber boot)
the tie rod is the part they screw in or out of the track rod end for your vehicle tracking (geometry)

Wrong. I have a 182 ff and if you take the renault part number to eurocarparts and they will cross reference and the correct tie rods will cost about £6.15 each they are exactly the same as I have checked and the leamforder track rod ends are all the same for 182's cup or non etc.... I looked...

there website says the keys are £120 but I got mine for £60 cut programmed etc and it's an original style key so remote locking etc works fine
Just to rub it in for you youngsters my wife and I are insured fully Comp on our mighty Bean 182 for 179 fully comp we are only mid 30's with 10 plus years no claims!!!

i also have the 182 full fat and the racks are the SMI racks fitted too 182 clios
I have done one of mine and will do the second for good measure today and to be honest not really that hard!!! The rubber boot as a previous comment is a bit of a git to get back on though!!!
