D5000 uses same lenses, jut no focus motor as per D40. I have been using a D5000 for a few days now to decide whether to get it or a D90 depending on funds.
Its chunky, but not too big. Bigger than the D40, smaller than the D90. The screen is nice and clear, the tilt is very handy too.
AF is...
Where can I get the 6500 for under 100? Tesco have it for £116, anywhere cheaper?!
Camera not an issue, rarely if ever will get used!
And yes... I have put this in the wrong section!
D5000 has a swivel LCD, video, CMOS sensor rather than CCD (same sensor as found in the D90/D300), live view and a few other features. Its high iso/low light shooting is way ahead of the D3000.
D90 adds a bigger screen, top LCD, lens motor in body and more buttons with easier access to a...
Invisishield is great - lifetime warranty too, if it fails you can request a new one! Expensive and not the easiest to fit, but probably the best you can get!

saves the video as a .flv file
Then use 'Super' to encode them (freeware!)

Get the D3000? Not much more than the D60 if you shop around.

You can probably find it cheaper and its the modern day D60 with a few more features.
To be fair to Nikon, the D5000 is much better than the D60, its a sort of entry level + model as it gets the same CMOS sensor as the D90/D300, 11 point AF, 3D tracking etc etc. It kind of replaces nothing as the D3000 just seems to be an overall replacement as the true entry level for Nikon...
I play footie in the grounds sometimes (there is a pitch round the back), plus used to venture in there a few times when I was younger and camera's were not really popular!
Security used to be very low, the set up was, one of us would climb the roof and enter one of the windows (before they all...
Cheers for the comments, budget may have to be slightly altered to accommodate a prime. Gave the Canon'a 2nd chance in Jessops over the weekend but the grip on them is just pony. Plus the smooth finish of the plastic makes them feel uber cheap! So its going to be a Nikon. Which one, depends on...
So looking to go beyond entry level now, and get some kit with a bit more grunt.
The budget is £850ish
So far....
Canon (all with inc getting the nifty 50!)
450D with 17-85is
500D with 17-85is
500D with 28-135is
Nikon D90 18-105 VR + nifty fifty
So whats everyone's thinking...
The new My Live Season premium service in FIFA 10 will feature weekly updates of player form, transfers, injuries, suspensions, fixtures, results and league standings, creating a mode that mirrors the real world, where gamers play their favourite real-world teams’ games in complete authenticity...
Sadly I dont get a lot of time to play on either the xbox or wii, but when I do its either Football, Tennis, Racing or War!!
Best at Football and with games like COD4 its a mixed bag... sometimes I run round like a gun happy loon getting sniped and blown up lots, other times I play a proper...
Well, its as fast as your going to get without spending mega wedge!
You can always bump up the ISO too if your not getting shutter speeds you really want!
I have no idea, my quit ratio was rather high, even though the majority of times I was quit on!! Only times I have quit is when the connection has been really bad and the game just went in to 1 frame per second mode!
The N86 is a great bit of kit, but has far too much going on for my liking so keeping it simple with a 6500 or something - hence mine is in the FS section!
Over budget.....but D5000 gets very good reviews!

Or if your interested I know someone who is selling a brand new Olympus E-620 with 2 lenses, 2 CF cards, 2 batteries etc for £580.
(see for sale section :))
But from experience I can tell you that the double zoom kit from Nikon focuses much quicker and quieter than the entry level Canon.
The D3000 is a nice bit of kit too:

Hang on... in that 2nd link they give licensing as a draw and a point to PES for customization, whilst admitting Fifa does not need customization as its already there!
Some really poor comparisons in that!
