I doubt the washers would freeze whilst going along - the water in the bottle is just frozon solid. Whn i have JUST water in mine the 11 mile journey to work won't thaw them. When i get back after work they are just fine.

Could this not be because the bonnet has 2 holes where the jets come through - thus heat from the engine getting to the nozzles quicker. i can promise you they're not heated by anything other than the engine.

Mirrors are heated mate - same switch as the rear de-mister

5k when cold you must be mad!! i know yours is Jap but still. The guage on the dash only shows water temp not oil temp. I would even contemplate going over 4k until at least 10mins of running the engine

It won't damage the engine as such but it's still not gonna do it any favors. I change gear when the mood dictates. no more than 4k on everyday use
