120,000 km is nothing for a car nowadays. As long as it’s been serviced regularly.
I don’t blame you for getting rid of the 420d. A nice car to drive up and down a motorway, but dull beyond dull for everything else.
Bought me a new light. Was stupidly expensive (just under £300!) but look how f**king good it is! My interiors will be even better now! 💪🏽

I had my van seat done by a local trimming company.
I bought the seat foam for £68 on eBay (came in a Renault box though?) and took it to a local place called Motortrim. He sent me for breakfast and when I went back an hour later it was done. Charged me £40.
On every car I buy I properly clean the seats with a magic sponge and APC and then dry fully with a clean microfibre. It’s a harsh process but it only needs doing once and then all they need is a little wipe every time you clean the interior. You wouldn’t want to do it weekly that’s for sure as...
I’m in your camp here. A sports cat that doesn’t do any actual catting is just a pipe, no??
If they’re selling sports cats that can’t pass emissions tests then it needs to state that clearly on the advert. ‘Not for road use’ seems a little bit weak as a description imo.
Glad it’s sorted mate. Get some pics up in the media section if it’s a bit of a project!
The fuel remaining thing - I have a similar issue on mine but just put it down to not being driven much and it never has a chance to calculate the MPG to work out how much is left. (It’s a track car with a...
Welcome to the Club Nev!
my gut reaction is the UCH under the glovebox. Usually if you unplug it and plug it back in (vigorously, 5 or 6 times) and the fault goes away for a few days, it’s a sure sign that it’s starting to fail.
It used to be an expensive fix but plenty of people offer a repair...
When doing the brakes, make sure you fit some braided lines and some decent fluid too. The last 197 I took on track had the same setup as you’re planning and the brakes were phenomenal.
a proper geometry setup will transform the car also.
welcome to the club. 👍
Same. My thermostat only goes down to 13 before it’s off completely - which I don’t want to do in case anything freezes. But the bloody thing was going all night. Probably cost me a f**king weeks wages.
I spent 2 hours just doing the engine bay today on this 20 year old 1.9 diesel Kangoo. It was absolutely howling but like a prick I didn’t take any before pics. 🤦♂️
looking spanking now though!
