£280 worth of fuel (and the clio was half full already!)
3 very late stressful nights, one very stressful morning and I’ve missed saying goodbye to my daughter...
But we’re off!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous. Granted most of that is me as a person at the moment, but I’ve also not driven my car on track this year. And it’s likely the only one I’m going to do. And I’ve spent nearly £4K getting it ready, plus the weekend tickets, hotel, food, track day, fuel...
To be fair, if I had to take the Kangoo I’d just top the oil up and go for it. If it breaks it breaks. I was so scared the clio wouldn’t be ready that I couldn’t give a s**t about any other car. 😂
Send hugs and prayers please boys and girls.
My new driveshaft has just arrived for the clio and if it doesn’t work, I’ve got a very busy morning tomorrow, getting my van ready to take on track. The same van that hasn’t moved for a good 4+months and has road tyres. And a 2+year overdue...
We had one as a courtesy car when I was at Ellani.
I remember one customer who brought his X5 back for warranty work announced “you’re lying to me Dan and I don’t appreciate it. This is neither a courtesy or indeed a car!”
😂😂😂
Campus 1.4?
I thought they only came in 1.2 petrol and 1.5’diesel?
The 1.2 gearbox holds 3.4 litres officially but you won’t get all of it out so 3 litres should be plenty.
But we could end up with 100 prizes. Keeping a crowd entertained for that long for a raffle will be near on impossible.
People lose interest after 10 minutes, 15 tops.
My car (Mk1 16v with Ph1 172 running gear) has just had a new gearbox and gripper diff fitted.
Before I had them fitted, the car drove lovely,
Now it’s been fitted, there is the mother of all vibrations from the front of the car when I go over abut 15mph.
Clutch in or out, it still does it...
@MarcB personally, I’d be putting that up at £15,995 maybe even £16,995 and aiming for very close to that.
There’s a lot of polished turds out there, and we all know yours won’t be.
My van had a decat, one silencer from a 2.2 accord diesel and the rest was straight piped. Was stupid loud tbf but I only had one warning for noise all day. You’ll be fine.
I’m assuming the MPG is what it is (not that good) because you’re doing loads of relatively short journeys?
It’s about 160/170 to fill up my X5 but I get 750+ miles out of that on the motorway though. It’s appalling around town. 😂
(I’m still contemplating one of these, I really want one)
