Thanks very much, I really appreciate it mate. If ever a reason to join our gang, it's proven here! I'll also take your photos to work tomorrow, to copy.
We will check everything before we set off! And hopefully deal with the heat issue. I was going to ask Kev if he could lend me his gadget to plug in to the ecu, to see what's going on. If he doesn't mind, can you read the info it gives?
Can you repeat all that in a language a double glazing salesman would understand :-)
So, as we are reading 0.4 to 6.8, you'd say there was an issue? Even though that goes when the engine is started? We took the reading off the top of the suspension, and the head, so I'd have thought they were...
We did that, and that's how we found the residence. But it was intermittent. And only showed up when the engine was off. As soon as we started it, ip the reader went to 0.00. And is it amps, or volts?
Okay, shocking day today!
Track day at Blyton Park (which is a great track, moor those that haven't been). Two things to check: firstly that we cured the missing issue, secondly to test the amount of fuel we use in a 15 minute race.
Failed on both accounts!
Ten minutes in to the first session...
How easy did you find the fit @sonny172cup ? I think I've got all the bits, but I'm sure Digger mentioned a certain part that you need, that I wasn't sure I had.
I've got the rack, a knuckle thing and an excuse connection thing with a nob on it to alter the stiffness (I think)
Hi, no mate. It's my daughters birthday, and I've been told the locks will be changed if I miss another one! I'm at Silverstone this weekend, and all been well at Castle Combe (even though it's miles away!)
Welcome Scotty, I'm also a Tarc racer. This my first season, and am loving it! They really are a friendly bunch of people, and always willing to help. If you are ever in Yorkshire, feel free to pop in and see my car.
I'll not be at Outlon, but hopefully see you next year
I think the whole thing about brakes is a debate to be had. Either way, I'm going to strip them down, clean them and give them a lick of paint! They are rusty as hell!
Ha, no mate. If it makes you feel any batter, I also have no idea how I got down to that weight! I actually got one of the corner scales and weighed myself, and it courted I'm a fat bugger, so it must be right :-)
Also, forgot to mention that I've had it on the scales.
Not bad, I don't think :-) this was with 20 litres of fuel! We did get the corners within 3kg at the front, but couldn't get any closer than 13kg at the rear.
A couple of shot from Cadwell when it was going, and I've had the van...
Ages since I've updated, and as its a quiet Sunday morning, I thought I might as well!
Okay, not really changed much on the car, just been getting used to it. Didn't do too good at Cadwell last time out though, as had real trouble with fuelling. Qualified in 7th, but could have been quicker. I...
We had about 6 or 7 15/20 sessions, so loads of track time. No, I didn't play around with the set up at all. It felt spot on from the first lap, so didn't really want to change it. I need to stop doing things to the car and just get used to it. The new brake discs made a hell of a difference...
Been a while since my last update.
Anyway, the car has been going fantastically. Raced with Tricolore guys at Brands, and loved it. Ended up 10th overall, which isn't that impressive, but I'm happy with it. It's only my 4th time out and I've loads to learn.
Anyway, changed the break pads last...
Dave, I appreciate all the input, and din't think you were doing anything other than helping. I've only really spent on things that I felt needed doing. We didn't know anything about the engine, so just fro reliability, needed to check it. the suspension work was on advice from everyone.
Other...
