Yes, after the first batch of work I had done, it weighed in at 891KG, without me in it. I haven't made any significant changes since then (other than the engine rebuild, which i dont think would have changed the weight). We did weigh them before we fit them, and I am expecting to see an...
Next job is to sort the brakes out. Not sure what to go for though, and I've run out of money!
My mechanic drives a 1.2 Clio, so parked mine next to his, so you could see the difference!
Bit of work taken place on the Clio today. Full new suspension!
Actually a very easy job, even for me, who doesn't know what he's doing! We got a set of the Role Centre Kit's from James Ashton (thanks pal).
The hubs needed a clean up and paint, but other than that, spot on!
We started...
Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow mate, as I'm probably ken of the few that has actually never seen it! What time you getting there? I'll bring the Hob Nobs.
A bit of work planned. I always felt the cage had a few weak points, so I'm going to add some extra strength to it. Especially after seeing a Clio crash at Cadwell, where the cage (and Hans) saved the chap from a lot of pain!
I'm changing the side frame to be a cross, rather than just a bolt on...
Hope you don't mind, but copied your design a bit, to add some strength to my cage. I'm putting the front bar in, and the cross at the sides. Did you buy it ready cut, or cut it yourself? We plan on cutting ourselves.
I've taken my dash out, and the bar will go in front of the new dash, so not...
What's your target for racing, do you think it will be this year? And have you decided who to race with yet?
The Tricolore Trophy guys are racing at Brands on 16th of May. Bob along and see us. We are a friendly bunch and always happy to share and help others to join us.
We do need to do some corporate style pictures of the drivers and cars at Brands. If there is a couple of hours in the day, we should all find a place to park up and get Mark to do some really good shots. We would all have to stand like the stig though!
A great first weekend of the racing season for the Tricolore Trophy team :-)
Started pretty good for me, as I got through scrutinering!
A fair bit of expert help from @Ant_Smiggy keeping me going. The mention of me being the driver, so no need to get my hands dirty, made my day :-)...
Cars all loaded up for tomorrow.
Also built a wheel rack on the front of the trailer. It's a bit low, so will make it taller next week.
Also, the vans looking nice and clean. Go faster stripes removed and fully T Cut.
Then the other side isn't so good....
Note to self.... Don't...
A small update.
Cars finished (as if that ever happens) and ready for Cadwell on Thursday.
Tidied engine bay up a bit more, and cut down the front grill to get a bit more air in to the Throttle Bodies (can't see it'll make that much difference, as the bonnet sits in same place!). Also fixed...
