Began the process of stripping parts from the engine. Not sure how much I should remove but I figure the lighter, the better.
I’ll nibble away at it each night so hopefully by Saturday it’ll be pretty much ready to come out.
As much as I’m a little anxious about doing the job, I’m pretty...
Job for this weekend on the BG daily is to get to the bottom of this oil leak. Uses around half a cup full a year but it’s flippin annoying me.
It’s not coming from the box or the sump, so I suspect it’s the crank oil seal 💭🤔 Got the seal and also invested in the tool. With 3 Clio Sports it...
It’s a small world. Which ones? I’m in the office with Rachael - youngest - and clare’s Just in the office complex across from us. Sam’s my boss these days and Stephen’s still at Durham. Nice people.
It’s a good circuit that. Sponsored and Co-ordinated the SG Petch Sprint Championship and some of the teams from the Elite Karting Leagues. 9 great years and met some really top drivers and people from that.
Couldn’t get away with it myself as I’m a bit on the heavy side compared to the stick...
Cool. I really enjoy it when a few lads get together for a good blast. All my mates are old boring farts, so I’ve been travelling to trackdays on me todd for years. Starting to make some track fwends now 😂
If I remember rightly it’s usually end of December. I know when I was sponsoring karting championships the circuits usually gave me dates around November time.
I could probably find out tbh. I’ll make a note to drop them an email.
I'm starting a new thread on my recent Clio 182 purchase - a 2005 Clio 182 FF in Racing Blue. And by restoration i don't mean concourse, just a decent high standard so she'll last many more years.
My other thread is now getting very busy with my BG daily and track car. That thread is here for...
Love this shot from Croft last Tuesday. Not a Javelin photo - they're average at best - but a shot by a chap called Andy Bennison.
Next trackday already booked for November 15th. Hope it stays dry this time.
The Clio Sport landscape has changed forever people. Put simply, the best Clio Sports are now in the hands of the best owners.
The time has come for you scruffy little b****s to move onto something else 🤣
Certainly sounds like it fella. Conversely we've just sold our youngest son a property for half of what it's worth. They've just had a baby and he travels 300 miles each weekend from his work to see his new son and girlfriend. He needs his parents support right now.
I did that the first time around to a friend. The conditions were he'd sell it back to me 6 months later and for the same money. He wrecked it. Never again 🤣
Thanks Dave. The ads been worth the entertainment value alone 😂 I might just sell it for £800 and wait for the lowball 😂 Don’t really want to sell her tbh.
Thanks Dave, much appreciated :)
I couldn't bear to uncover the car after a few months only to find those horrible pad marks you get on brand new discs after lack of use. Certainly seems to be working.
Another great day at Croft in the old girl. Car’s not running perfectly as needs a remap. Sat out the morning session due poor visibility - as in I couldn’t see out of my windscreen 😂
Finally joined in just before lunch when things settled down a touch.
Met up with Fred and James and their...
Yeah he needs a mic as he mumbles and i can't fathom out what he's saying half the time. His cars are crazy though. Thanks for the other link, i'll have a good look at that.
Not sure if he's been mentioned here but Matt Green's channel is good value https://www.youtube.com/c/MattGreen16v .
He's currently building a Metro 6R4 from a Scoobie.
Busy weekend getting the track car ready for Croft on Tuesday.
Needed to clean/bleed the brakes and sort a temporary battery out after those clowns working on my car dumped it outside for 2 months with no cover or care. 🤬 They’d also tried to jump start my lithium battery and fried it in the...
If it's absolutely pissing it down i won't attend as i only have dry tyres and don't fancy dying 🤣 I did Cadwelll in the wet once and it's just no fun, plus my car doesn't have any heaters and no amount of Rain-X can clear the screen. Fingers crossed for a dry one :)
I always vowed never to restore another rear axle beam yet here I am again 🤦🏻♂️
This one is particularly nice though with very little pitting around the spring area.
On this occasion though I’m going to get it shot blasted as I think it’ll come up beautifully.
The plan is to then...
