Days leave off work today so had an hr on the blue dci.
Whipped engine mount off to check timing belt. Its a dayco belt fitted, so has definitely been done in the past. Not keen on dayco belts so i almost ripped it off and done it but will leave it until another time.
Main issue was rocker...
I usually go over the bit with more deox gel and a brush, then use a water bottle and mist water on, dry with a rag and done. Not had too many issues with flash rust. If you are not painting in a hurry, i guess a quick blast of wd40 would stop any issues, but would need to clean the metal...
Cleaned arches whilst on jack, full of road muck, same with mudflaps
Probably never been cleaned
Quick wash, presentable enough for now
Took it for a test run and could smell oil and turbo whistle, investigated and found that the plastic boost hose is split both ends. Not sure if turbo is...
Quick update
Oraage dci is running epic touch wood, flying along and 64.8mpg everywhere. Its done mega miles recently compared to last few months.
Blue dci update, back on with it now Csf has been and gone.
Started with changing the aux kit for a new genuine Renault kit, as was chirping on...
I wouldnt even bother attempting to clean the sensors mate, the front ones will most likely break when removing anyway. Just get it scanned, find the issue and fix that job done.
Can clip is the dealer diagnostic interface mate, you can get clone copys. Should be easy enough to fix with the right diagnosis. Find out whats chucking the light on, and prob need a new sensor fitting if one is faulty, or an abs ring may need replacing
Pre cat o2 sensor does go up and down the voltage, so might have been ok.. Scan it with clip and find out what faults are stored before firing the parts cannon at it mate.
Either redrill your original front engine mount to fit f4r or use 1.7 front engine mount, should bolt straight on. Use stock gearbox mounts, well use vibratechnics or similar as the original rubbers are too soft
Trendlines are great, i find them comfy and support is decent, get a megane pair and runners to suit. Defo more comfy than Recaro cs, they are arse achers on a run !
Epic, that must have been right at the end just before the chequered flag came out. I was sending it over all the kerbs, and accidentally took out a cone earlier in the day resulting in a rubber scuff on my n/s 2118 and the length of the n/s sill
I dont mind moving over as seen you making...
The twingo is pretty epic, @Adeyspec let me and the mrs take it out, goes well, handles well. Feels like an old gt turbo, with better handling, better tyres and brakes and it would be flying
Looks quick @JB21 fair play. The metro was quick too cant believe how fast that came up behind me, was class.
Anybody get any footage of my Kangoo ? I forgot to put the camera on as i was too busy being a gobsh*te haha.
Also who was in that silver standardish looking 182 think reg started...
Just got back, had an awesome weekend! Best csf yet. Massive thanks to the admin staff who do all the legwork setting it up.
Great to catch up with old and new faces too. Had a riot in the Kangoo on track !
Still buzzing over winning the xbox on the raffle, have wanted one for ages.
Roll on...
Late one tonight, got in from work/gym and went out to clean Kangoo and Megane up, as not been cleaned for ages maybe 4-6 weeks.
Started raining as soon as i had got the jetwash out, could not fecking believe it. Cleaned the inside and packed instead. Rain eased off 7:45ish so cracked on and...
Cheers mate (y) i can totally relate to the dissapointment. When i bought this i plowed a bit of money in doing the belts and anything else that was shot. Took it to the local track for a quick blast and the handling was horrendous on the original suspension which was original dci shocks on...
Ive bought some ebay cheapos continental direct is the brand, no idea if related to the tyres or not. £45 delivered for a pair, look ok cant be any worse than the current ones. Current drivers one is absolutely rotten, looks like the cup is ready to fail, and no damping whatsoever, but dry as a...
I think thats the plan now, aux kit needs doing as cracked aux belt, but send it for a bit to see if its drinking oil or not.
My clip is a full chip clone off ebay, works great. Just reprogrammed a megane 225 cup airbag ecu tonight with it, works great with new win 7 laptop.
Definitely...
Looks well after a clean up. You wont have any problem with noise at Blyton, they dont test static, and my single box system on the Kangoo which is as loud as the old Yozza system does not trigger the drive by monitor. Mine is something silly like 108db on the limter:LOL:
Small update,
Checked glow plugs today, to see if they were any good, as this fault kept flagging up on clip.
Simple resistance check, number 1 was open circuit, the rest around 15ohms from memory. Because budget project/tight northener/pikey ? just stuck one glow plug in. I have changed tons...
Csf prep done,
Started off by adjusting the rear shoes, they needed minor adjustment after a full day at Croft. This needs a disc upgrade on the back really, but works OK for now. Adjusting the rear compensator to original settings last year made a massive difference to wear.
Fresh RBF600...
My kangoo 172 is on stock ecu, decat and most of the time with no warning light whatsoever. Had it on twice in last 10k, fitted a 90deg lambda spacer and not seen it on since. It will have faults stored in the ecu when scanned with clip, but not enough to trigger the light.
Theres 2 approaches i tend to do on this
One is deox gel, if any rust pitting left bosh some hydrate 80 on to convert, zinc primer on converted metal, paint of choice and it will slow the corrosion down and get a few years out of it. Its relatively easy and fast to do.
2nd approach is the long...
Tackle it yourself if no welding needed, get a load of Bilt hamber products on. Most bodyshops will only flash it over with the d/a and chuck some rust convertor on and it will return quite fast
Cheers mate, its a good old motor. Glad i pulled my finger out and got it road legal again, as too easy to forget about it in the garage.
Cheers mate (y) If i had to sell all of them and keep one, i would have no idea which one to keep, as all totally different to drive, and enjoyable in...
Cheers mate, i quite enjoy driving it, it corners great on the eibachs and pilotsports which makes the commute decent. Its no flyer, but makes up for that economy wise, and lack of speed has prob saved my licence
