Thanks. Having read the details there isn't that much difference with the Cup like there was with the 1*2. I would be happy with any 200 really as like you say, suspension is going to be changed so it's basically cloth seats, no CC and a steering rack that will be different.
Thanks for this, great info.
Do you know if there are any suspension differences between the Cup (chassis) and non Cup? In the 182 I remember there being different bolt spacing for the shocks?
I will have a search for the common issues. I loved my 172 but the line I always used to say was that...
Afternoon all! I'm back!
Many moons ago I had a 172 which I thrashed to heck on track and loved. But unfortunately I had to sell it to fund a house. But now I am in a position to look at getting a new track car and a Clio 200 is top of the list.
Back when I was a super mega 172 fanboy I knew...
Legend. Thanks!
Is there no bolt spacing differences with suspension like their was with the 182? I.e. is there different aftermarket suspensions that I need to be aware of?
Cheers
So for 197's:
An R27 is easily identified by being Yellow and having a plaque.
A normal 197 will have silver wheels and not have red calipers (ignoring the possibility for people to change them).
A normal 197 with the Cup Chassis will have all the AC/CC/adjustable steering, etc of the...
I remember (although I can't seem to find it) that there was a guide on here that detailed the differences between the 172/182 specs (normal, Cup, Cup Chasis, FF, Trophy, etc etc).
Is there a similar guide anywhere for the Mk3's (197 and 200s)? I'm interested in learning about the different...
The being fixed to the floor bit should fail an MOT. The drivers seat must move forwards and backwards and lock into position.

Me, being a **** at Bedford.
Me being a *** at Bedford, again:
And me, being a *** at Bedford, for a change...
I've also been off at least once more at Bedford that wasn't captured on film. I've not been off at any other track I've been on. Bedford being perceved as "safe" encorages you to...
Yeah its possible, but as jamseycc said, one you add a seat + sliders + custom subframe, you have failed the "cheap" part of the criteria 😧.
I drove my Clio for the first time in 5 weeks having recently got an Octavia for plodding about, and it felt like I was sitting 2 feet higher 😧
I would like an alternative drivers seat that is considerably lower than the standard seat, provides more lateral support, fits a "larger" gentleman, passes an MOT (has runners), uses the original standard belts, and costs as little as possible.
What are my options, or am I dreaming?
Whilst I'm still trying to sort out why the RS Tuner isnt reading the ABS ECU, can anyone suggest some standard checks to do which might cause the ABS light to be on all the time?
Where are the sensors on the wheels? I'll give them a clean. I will check the rings for cracks. I don't think it's...
I'm working with Henk through the support channels of Fastchip.nl, but I was wondering if anyone else had seen this issue. I have a Clio 172 phase 2 thats supposed to have the ABS ECU supported by RS Tuner, and I've bought the module unlock code, but no matter what I do RS Tuner won't find an...
So I've had mine on for a while and it still makes me lol on every slip road!
But I'm worried it might be too loud? Has anyone with the setup from the OP used theirs on track? I'm planning a Bedford day again soon and really don't want to be sent home after 1 lap for tripping their super strict...
A few months back there was a thread on here where a guy made a decent clone of a K Tec induction kit using a metal elbow and filter from eBay. It was pinned to the site home page for a bit too.
Had anyone got a link to the thread? I can't remember who it was who posted it and can't find it in...
They replaced a set of identical pads that used to squeal only occasionally, usually when cold and only at low speed.
Adding the backing pads and the lube on the ends has helped massively, but they still squeal every time I come to a stop.
I need to swap the 3 black ones around in my 172 to try and diagnise why my car won't start, but I can't see how to get the relays out? I've pulled straight up but they don't budge? Is there a clip or something holding them in? Am I missing something?
Thanks
Grabbed one of those Mintex kits and fitted it tonight. Put a bit of the lube on the ends of the pads where they sit in the carriers, and cleaned off the back of the pads and the carriers and attached the self adhesive rubber pads. Went for a quick "check the brakes still work" drive and they...
