Its a shame there's little gains other than noise to be had, but all credit to Renault for making an air feed that's pretty well optimized.
I think I will stick with the paper filters, unless there's a cheap foam panel filter about.
I need to get to my washer bottle as it's either broke or a pipes come off, but I can't get the front wipers off to get access. I've undone the bolt and tugged and twisted and swore but they just won't move. Are they usually a pain to remove, or am I doing something wrong? The windscreen was...
Assuming my car passes its MOT it's service time again, meaning I will hover over all the air filter and induction kit options for a few days, before just buying a stock paper filter.
But am I missing out? I know the power increase claims have been pretty much disproved over the years, but are...
I know very little other than another Clio seat would drop straight in. But I've seen people mention Evo seats and things before, so I assume there are options with minimal fabrication needed.
I could get a bucket and run standard belts, but there seem to be very few that support it. And they...
I know, there's just a group of people who like to stroll around these forums saying that using harnesses without a cage means certain death if you roll it.
Personally I wouldn't care, it's the cost of a cage and harnesses that puts me off. Any replacement seat for me needs to use standard belts.
Having woken up the day after a few recent track days with a sore patch on the outside of my right knee, I've figured out what it is. I'm instinctively bracing myself against the door card with it when going through left hand turns. I'm a pretty big chap with long legs so I tend to sit more 'on'...
Ill do some diagnostics tonight. My assumptions are:
No clicking = fuse or relay
Clicking but no motor noise = motor
Clicking and motor noise = threads stripped
Anything else I should check?
Just a thought, if its the motor would the relay still make a click? And therefore if there isn't a click its likely a problem with the relay or fuses?
I've had to head off to work, I'm already late. I will check everything I can when I get home.
A quick Google suggests checking the relays too, but I can't find where these would be in the 172. Any ideas?
I started the car this morning without noticing the front wipers were frozen to the screen. The arms tried to move and then stopped. However having cleared the ice and turned the car off and on the wipers now won't work at any setting. The rear still works fine.
Any idea where I should look...
I'd like to have a 3.5mm input to my stereo in my 172, but all the ebay ads list the cables as being for 2005+. Mines a 2002, is it possible, and which cable do I need?
Cheers.
A range of tyre tracks across the grass around Druids developed throughout the day.
I chickened out of taking the little crest before the braking zone flat out on one lap and was met with lift of oversteer that meant I nearly added to them!
I imagine Oulton would be a very challenging track to...
Yep, next door to us.
I loved it. Not done Oulton before and innitially it was quite intimidating with the total lack of grip and camber changes and very close barriers. But once it started to dry and I got more confident that made it very rewarding.
Shame its so bloody far away for me :(.
It was on a hunter 3 weeks ago. Rears was to get a reading on camber before I look at getting shims. Front was needed as I had the tie rods replaced.
Caster was the same before and after, but toe went from quite a bit of toe in to parallel, so I think that masked the pulling.
Its got worse since getting the alignment done, but I had the toe in reduced to zero so maybe that just masked it a bit? Top mounts and bushes are likely originals on a 10 year old/120k car so might simply be old and worn.
My car is pulling left. Does it ever so slightly under acceleration, but gets stronger when coasting off throttle. From what i remember from my 4 wheel alignment the only unbalanced figures were the front caster, which had about half a degree difference (I've lost the print out). Could this...
Had a set for 18 months. Didn't use the car daily so for 12 months they just did 4 track days. 2 were wet and they were great so long as you avoided puddles.
I've since moved jobs and stuck 8000 miles through them and apart from some uneven wear due to front camber they have been fine. Again...
