Small update just to say it's all mapped now.
It did max the oe injectors out so has a set of megane 225 injectors in there now. Looks like one of the oe ones was leaking slightly as well which may explain why I thought it was overfuelling last season.
Very impressed with the improvements...
Haven't decided on coating it yet mate, if the heat given off isn't excessive I probably won't bother but will see. It's the same as heat wrapping I guess, do you want to keep the heat retained in the manifold and therefore the head and risk the damage that way or do you want the manifold to...
Still have vvt on my 421's it's the throttle bodies that make it idle high, even just off the throttle stop there's a fair amount of air passing into the engine hence the idle being higher.

It'll be a different car once it's mapped and let off its leash mate, just sounded like it was coming on song and you had to change gear yesterday. Appreciate the ride out for the father in law too.
Russ
@Diagro Thanks mate appreciate it.
Car is currently away being mapped, looks like the oe injectors are maxed out with the new manifold so my Meg 225 ones I was keeping for my new engine are going in tomorrow so it can be finished, current figures are encouraging!

Productive week on the car this week.
Took it to Blink Motorsport yesterday and had all the geo done and corner weighted. Rear beam should be spot on now. All corner weighted with race fuel level comes in at 890kg + driver so happy with that, I've added weight with the sump guard put stripped...
Oil breather plate is all finished now, really pleased with how it's come out.
New alloy fitting welded on
New plug fitted in original hole
All primed up
And painted
And refitted with new hose etc.
That's the car all done for now. Going for full geo setup next Friday and the map...
No mate it's not mine just in for some work.
@neil a certainly a good way to lose a fair bit of weight but more importantly make it a lot more reliable and eaiser to fix if there is a problem, essential on a race car.

Van is at the body shop now for a couple of weeks. Got a good chunk of work done on it today.
Hopefully next time I've got some pics it'll be mint with all new bits fitted!
Seen as the clio is just about ready for testing and The breather plate is away being welded ive got time for other...
It was on ebay Danny a black one he's relisted it now as a non runner I think. Was a decent car, fairly original with good history, a few dents/marks but pretty clean.

Oh the irony!
Went to pick up a nice ph1 today, been sat in the garage for 2 weeks and the guy came to start it this morning, pop bang and then just constantly turning over! Had a poke about to check basics, crank sensor, fuel and spark etc but it looks like the timing has slipped or jumped to...
Damn right it would mate! But tbf that's not just Ktec that can't time one up, done a belt recently on a 182 that had had it done previously by a 'specialist' and it was out + the amount of renault main dealer ones out there isn't funny either!

Think it's time I started building more race cars for paying customers! Flol at how the battery isolator is mounted, hanging off one bolt! Seriously who is gonna buy that for £9.5k, I could build one for a customer in a matter of weeks for not much more than half that!
Russ
I'll be a bit off 260bhp I'm afraid, I think getting a reliable f4r to do those kind of numbers would make my eyes water in terms of money! It's new crank and solid lifter territory and I could never justify that.
Yeah I agree with the 197, ive raced Kevs Tricolore 200 at donington in tintops...
The extra horse power is on the cards mark don't worry, but the ex prod btcc cars aren't all that much faster, it's the Hondas that are the problem hence why I was building the civic, they make a lot of power easily and they've got a lot more mechanical grip. The clio is a lot lighter though!
Russ
Not a lot happening but if you've been paying attention you may have noticed that I've sold all my honda shell and parts, just waiting for the roll cage to be collected. I just haven't got the time or money to build another high spec race car at the minute + I think I should really be developing...
