Something I've wanted to have done for a while is having the roof wrap done differently, the roof itself is ok but it's the section on the sides that run from the back and right down the A pillars. Thankfully someone I've known for years in the Renault scene decided to set up in the wrapping...
Clio passed its MOT, blessed for another year and gave it a cheeky B road spin and stopped for breakfast. Also booked in with Chris King mid September to have an oil and filter change, fit the 220 LED rear lights and shark fin.
You'll be made to feel that guilty about what the ICE does you won't wanna turn the key. Once the generation of Castrol R smelling people are gone you'll be left with a world of Great Thunbergs
Akropovic exhausts are underwhelming on sound imo. After straight piping one of the boxes on the 200, in Sport mode it crackled nicely on overun and popped on the gear changes. Akra tips for the look, and that's it.
I think I have an Inoxline system with sports cat at a slightly bigger diameter...
Sourced all the later LED rear lights on Ebay and they arrive Monday latest. Last year I bought the wiring harness to convert them just in case so that's now come in handy as it was a limited run.
Official Blyton pics are in, and reinforces the fact that silver 220 wheels work.
I sold the car early 2013 after my partner passed away, I couldn't bare being with it..... Then shortly after in April 2013 I bought the Petrol Blue 182.
Talking about the old days, I fired up the FlickR account (whoooooo!) and found these.
10 years ago, 28th July 2012, Blyton Park when I owned @Christopher old RB 182.
They were brilliant days, pretty much how I met all the friends I still have now. Helping repair GT Turbos then a curry afterwards, trackdays, rolling road days. The amount of cars that would turn up to organised events like the RR days were amazing.
I think it was 2005-6 when I came back in GT...
Always a next time! I did spot your car parked near the main arena. There was so much post Covid catching up to do with many people then the stints out on track.
To do list:
Re wrap the roof in high gloss but miss out the section that runs along the A pillar to the spoiler. Now the silver...
Thanks for the positive response 😊
The journey goes on, small changes but IMO making big impacts. I feel it's all tying up nicely now, the Clio almost looks complete. The red bits over time just didn't work for me, it looked too fragmented. It's a car, not a racecar or dedicated trackday car...
Fancyplates fitted, a quick scrub and some pics. Smaller front plate fits much better and losing the GB part in blue means there's one less colour on the Clio
It was actually your thread and photos that made me almost go for 225s when trying to make the decision, I was going between to the 2 for a couple of days but in the end just went for OE. I know there's a massive price difference but aired on the side of caution, I don't mind the 205s.
I should...
It's been years since I've messed about with cars, I guess at least 2 years since the Meg. With CSF drawing closer I gave myself a small challenge, to get the OE wheels sorted and fitted.
Eibach 16mm spacers bought, fresh number plates from Fancyplates. I've had the front plate made slightly...
Wheels have been refurbished already, very quick turnaround and means I have to sort some rubber out ASAP! And 16mm wheel spacers to clear the Brembo 4 pots.
Replacement decals arrived today as well
Skimming through FB during the week and a chap an hour away has a set of 220 Trophy wheels for sale on the Clio Mk4 group
"Sitting in the shed for ages, need shot of em, need a refurb, tyres shot.... £100 for 4"
Yep, I'll be there Saturday morning, a phone call to @MrBlonde and a cheeky...
Picked up the Clio this evening from @Jekyll and oh yes! It really is so much better in the flesh, it just makes sense to me. Thank so much my friend ☺️
The rear diffuser neatly blends into the upper bumper panel so now it looks like one seamless panel. As for the blade, when you physically...
Red wheels have Cup 2 tyres which limits the use to either trackdays and sunny days. I don't think a Q car is a bad thing, anthracite colour?
It's just been toned down a bit.
Dropped the Clio off after work on Friday with a weekend turnaround to pick up on Monday.
Rear diffuser bolts rusty, bolts holding the exhaust tips rusty. Front bumper removed to take off the blade, the diffuser was plastidipped so that was peeled off, filled in places, flatted and painted. I'm...
Evening Liam, get onto the Mk4 200/220 RS Facebook group and tag in Ian Willacy. He's the go to guy for hybrid turbos, I bought his old Clio running 320/280
