Popped over to Ron's this evening as the Clio was in dire need of some valet attention after my French road trip last week. More on that this week in my Trophy blog thread.
So yeah a random selection of photos of scenery and the Clio en route. I wasn't sure which section to post but thought as it's a road trip, in the Clio I'll put it in the Clio Media thread unless it should go elsewhere.
I had a window of opportunity to take a week off work as it was quiet so I decided to book a hotel down in Cap-D'ail located 2 miles out of Monaco right on the coast. I'd been there for one night 3 years ago as part of a European driving holiday and decided to stay there for 4 nights this time...
There certainly is, there's a chap on the Mk4 Clio 200/220 Facebook group who sells them for around the £6-650 mark.
I do know someone who has one for sale too @-D4N-
My ol man had one of these (Manta GTE) in horrific metallic brown, loved it. I think he was hanging on to his yoof ?
Styling by Berlinetta? German for Stevie Wonder!
The decals were a dealer option under 'Renault Boutique' admittedly all down to personal choice and not mine either. There's a story behind the car to which my friend won't remove them, and to be fair it would cause too much damage trying to remove 30 year old decals.
The story and the...
And going back to brake cooling, ideally if you run a flexi hose into the wheel arch it should be pointing right next a deflector plate which pushes air straight to the centre of the disc #turbulence
My friend popped round to where I was having the Clio worked on the other weekend in this. Not quite 90s but they stopped production in 91. 1 owner from new, garage stored with 25k
He gave me the keys to have a drive out, wow! Blast from the past but showed me how much has changed, no power...
The worrying thing is the garage was going to fit them? I ordered a set of front discs for my daughters 1.2 Clio from ECP using the reg number and they gave me solids, even hers has vented discs.
I can't imagine for one minute they'd even fit for offset differences.
Thank you, yes I was lucky to have the mechanic recommended to me so he's now going to be my go to. I should be ordering the Pro Alloy FMIC and he's already booked in to fit it. Since my friend Matt moved to France I've had to go to various companies for work so hopefully now I can stay with the...
It's getting there! To be fair I did say to myself I wouldn't change a thing but the petrol head who enjoys trackdays in me knew it would. I really wanted the 4 pot calipers when I had the Liquid Yellow 200 so I saved up and bought them.
Appreciate you taking the time to read the update, I'm...
Thought I was buying an already decent car that didn't need changing! Oh well, what's been done to be fair hasn't changed the looks just enhanced their own areas. Once the intercooler is done then everything that's been compromised due to the mapping has been covered, then in theory it's just...
Thanks mate! Well I've booked the Clio in with Chris down in Ashford for intercooler fitting the second weekend of July so that's dictated where my money's going! Was hoping to do a other evening session maybe the end of July but I'll see as if CSS18 is in August I may as well wait for that. I...
