Spot on Mart. At the end of the day, the convoy is a big part of getting there and the last thing I would want to see would be an accident. The only stupid things we do is put Ad's car up on ramps on a kerb at a meeting point to do a B&Q bodge on his exhaust before going to the Black Mountains...
Go to Adam @ Renault Parts Wolverhampton. He charges about £40 per side and knows his stuff so you know you are getting the correct dampers.
Just do the rears first, then do the fronts so you only need two axle stands...but make sure you have both fronts up together so the arb doesnt fight...
As I have already said to Dolan...you are more than welcome to tag along with us lot from West Mids. The time we leave Corley services is to be decided...but we are on the way down for you guys.
If you are intending on convoying down with us...make it known in here and if you can get your...
That could be quite a good idea...although I know you will want to lead us in when we get there.
I'm hoping Mandy comes as I could do with her to answer calls if anyone contacts me.
Never had a drink in Bridgnorth!!!!
There are no real places with good parking in the centre that I know of...
Its a JD Wetherspoons... http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/10/10301/Jewel_Of_The_Severn/Bridgnorth
She may have already seen that comment judging by the swear words she has just uttered! She has fractured her foot so has it in a cast...lost a battle with a 16.4hh horse!!!
Its normally Mand...but with her having a foot in plaster...it might be a no go to her hanging out of the window going down the Motorway! :race: :nono:
The West Midlands convoys are always legendary...and that is due to the members. Corley is big enough to have a fair few people in so we shouldnt have a problem in terms of space. It also means I can grab a Starbucks so I can coffee myself up.
I'm looking forwards to this as don't think I will...
Bring a bottle....;)
I am the same. We can do a single stop around 50% of the distance for those with little bladder (points at Ad). Times will be sorted shortly as need to work out timings...but will suggest a 20 minute window at Corley for getting us together ready for the convoy.
No issues if anyone/group want to tag along. The only problem I foresee is if we have to do too many stops, then it becomes a mess...so will be main meeting place in Corley, will everyone in West Mids congregating there and then if others who are nearer to the place (en route) can wait at the...
Yeah mate. I want to be able to have a steady drive over to Cambridge. Its M6, M1, then across to A1 (M) so is a bit of a trek compared to Gaydon. So will leave around 8 I would have said from the top of my head...
Matt...how long have we known each other...back to the Coupe Club days when you came to Cosford and with 2 wheels of each colour. Of course you're welcome mate. :approve:
I am going to suggest that the main meeting point is Corley Services on M6. If you guys/girls want to meet in smaller convoys to eventually meet at Corley...then even better.
Yeah, similar to the Skoda Fabia Splitter. Its the joys of Renault making their own prices up at stupid rates. Luckily some people are happy to try alternatives and share the results.
Yeah mate. Put it in and saw your comment. I suppose its me...but although silver would be easier to get dirty...it would be the right colour (for me) although I'm sure Dawn will probably be getting another flamer...so wants to swap the wheel across if she ever does. ;)
Get 172 Cup one as the brake bias valve tends to be the issue on MOT. Also...negates the need for ABS rings.
Its always best to go like for like. :)
Have you tried Renparts (as least they will know exactly what you are on about).
Also, see if Ad can get hold of them? At least you will know if...
Last day for purchasing tickets in advance will be in two weeks time. If you've not already purchased them...it works out £3 cheaper when bought in advance.
Its about 3 or 4 working days. It depends on how busy they are and also how battered the rims are (as one of my alloys were fire damaged and the other 3 were all badly scuffed/battered). I dropped mine off on the Friday and got them back the following Thursday (was bit too late on Wednesday...
Its a bit of a trek to the centre of Brum from Stoke...but for £80 for all 4 wheels to be refurbished, blasted and then powdercoated...its a no brainer. They will do 'an' anthracite colour...and while it might not be exact match, it couls look better. I had Turinis done in 'Sparkle Silver' and...
Exactly. You have steering and power through the front wheels...the rears just follow on 'in a straight line' (so to speak), if they break traction, they are harder to get right again than fronts in an FWD car.
