The exhaust knocking could be the rear exhaust mount, it has like a star of rubber in the middle that perishes so the hanger rattles around in the square of the mount
Sounds like you have a leaking rear shock. Have a look under car and both these should be fairly obvious.
Depends on...
Yep correct my ph2 172 had a full size spare and should be face down as the tools/jack sits inside it.
It may have something under the wheel. Mine had some protective material under it so the alloy didn't get marked. Check if this is doubled over so it's not sitting flush.
Good decision. Can't understand the logic of some people that spend a few grand on a newer tdi to save a minimal amount of fuel a week. Unless you do a LOT of miles the numbers don't stack up.
Also you'll be smiling while driving the 172 which counts for a lot ime!
Put some ATE Superblue...
Few people i know had running issues with the Bosch plugs aswel, changed them to the NGK's and spot on
Arr right mate decent price, that with trade discount? I'm still a few quid cheaper like..
If the shocks are in good condition/been changed recently then a decent set of lowering springs will be an improvement
If they are leaking etc, then do this
The Cooksport springs are getting good feedback on here aswel
I'm a very similar price for their normal 2-5 day post and nearly £10 cheaper if you select the courier option on their site!
I only send them on next working day courier and only sell the larger surfaced 565 pads
Please check out all the Traders sections on here :D
Good to hear the positive comments about the Federal RSR as I'm getting a set fitted at end of month to try out and will be used on road with a few track days thrown in. For the money they seem ideal for my needs
I tend to change mine a bit more often then that tbh
For the sake of £15 and a bit of time it's good to know you have fresh/decent fluid in there. Especially if doing track days or you're spending a bit on new discs and pads you might aswel stick some fresh fluid in while you're at it imo
Presuming you've looked in the cars for sale on here mate?
There's a few in there atm that's just had belts done , one being sold by Daniel for circa £2200 iirc
Also put a thread up in the proper Wanted section you might get more views in there
