Such a great colour. Kinda wish I had bought one instead of my current odyssey blue but they're pretty rare here in the Netherlands.
Gave mine a much needed hand wash today. Looks a little neater with the brake ducts installed as well. Sadly the sun just disappeared.
I did try to pull with the pad holder bolted on but I couldn't get it to move so I assumed (for some reason) that it's just fixed in place? Come to think of it, that's a little silly. I suppose they might be seized then. They just sit behind the caliper?
I got fed up so I didn't take a pic. I...
Had this issue. Your belt is either too short or one of the pulleys (ie alternator, ac whatever) isn't the right size. Get a 1 size bigger belt. I believe I fitted a 1670 belt but don't quote me on that. It's been a while.
The reason I had this issue is because I changed the original (ph1)...
Not that useful to you but I just went to a local bike shop that i believe also does some custom stuff and they machined it for pretty cheap. Places that do metal fabrication usually aren't that hard to find locally either.
Also, you're right about the 5mm needing to be machined off.
A bit of a weird one, I got the Ferodo FDS558 pads off of autodoc since kamracing lists them as compatible on their website for clio 172 rear brakes.
Turns out that they wont fit and seem to be too thick? Piston side is fine but the outer facing one simply wont fit between the disc and the...
When popping them out just make sure you dont put the screwdriver between the housing and the plastic see through bit as its just glued on and will separate pretty easily.
Just took it out of storage to have some work done that I couldn't do myself.
Don't worry, I have the fogs still laying around somewhere. I'm putting in brake ducts though.
God those wiper arms need some love....
Took the car out of storage and started doing some things. I first had to diagnose the high idle issue I've been having. After lots of brake cleaner spraying, head scratching, gasket replacing I just couldn't figure it out. I've replaced the MAP and air inlet temperature sensor as well but this...
So I did end up finding the problem. I've replaced most of the gaskets which wasn't it. Replaced the MAP and air temp sensor, that also wasn't it. I didn't think it could be the throttle body but since i had recently sent a spare one off to get enlarged and refurbished I just chucked that one on...
Good progress mate! Taking mine out of storage sometime this week to have some stuff done I can't do myself since I'm moving :/
Legend has it that we might meet at the track again this year. What a time to be alive.
Replaced all the intake gaskets except the lower one where the RS stamped one meets the head as I was hoping to be lucky. Well I wasn't. Still having the exact same issue. On cold start it will sit around 1200 rpm. Once there's some heat into it and you come to a stop it will sit at around...
Still at a loss what it could be. Would love to hear if anyone agrees with my above post that the ICV is fine (since it idles better, but still at 1100/1200rpm, when blocked off completely)
Ordered all new gaskets for the intake from Renault which I should be able to pick up later this week...
I couldnt find a blow torch anywhere so I didnt get to test it using that method. I did spray brake cleaner around all the areas that could possibly have a leak but I couldn't find anywhere. Checked all the inlet bolts and everything is tight. I disconnected all the hoses that could possibly...
I just checked, all bolts are in.
I don't have a torque wrench but there isn't any harm in checking the bolts. Will try that later.
The thing is though, I haven't touched the inlet/intake manifold or throttle body and it was fine before.
Installed a battery and intake cover. Also painted the ECU bracket and whatever that other bracket that goes over the battery is called. Also give some stuff a bit of a clean.
Okay so I was installing a battery cover and decided to paint the ECU bracket. While working in the engine bay I leaned over the engine with my hand on the Renault Sport letters of the intake manifold. I heard a little sound which almost sounded like a crack or something but it didnt sound like...
Fair enough. I also have the fatty induction kit (but it's really just an eBay special) so I'd be fine if most of the sound came from the intake.
I'm looking at these Klarius parts on eBay, I think these might work...
As in replacing the centre resonator? I don't see where else I could fit another silencer. I suppose its an option but I think it's mainly the KTR backbox that creates this awful drone.
It's full interior with rear seats and the parcel shelf installed. I have been toying with the idea of...
I'm using the K-tec stealth catback with center resonator on my phase 1 172 with standards manifold and dual cats and I hate it. I hate it so much. It ruins any driving pleasure. The drone is horrible and its just too loud. I'm honestly getting headaches from it and my ears ring after a long...
So it turned out that there was indeed air in the brake lines. It's now fully bled by also turning the ABS pump on with Renault Clip. I used RBF600 again since I still had 4 new bottles. The pedal feels great and stays firm, even after a good thrashing. I'm keen to find out how the brakes feel...
