For anyone that may be pondering over one of these the last five minutes of this sum up exactly why, after all this time, I still love driving mine so much.
Today I performed an MR230 map update via the Cobb Accessport that comes as part of the MR230 package.
I'd heard previously from an owner who had real issues with the running of his MR230 which ended up getting resolved by way of a visit to Mountune, and also, Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road...
Standard tyres as in the Michelin Primacy (?) that come fitted to the Prius?
Is it like that on the road, all loose at the back or does it only happen if you give it an intentional bootfull?
That looked a lot of fun!
What do these have ESP/TC wise? What were your settings? It seemed quite keen to move about.
Much as I love boost with all my heart I do need to have one of these as some point.
The trouble is people that view driving or riding as something that has a console reset button. In reality when it goes wrong you are lucky if you get a second chance.
A moment's inattention may well seem to have no serious consequences 90% of the time...but the other 10%? How do you know if...
Just to be clear, idiocy applies to those that think a flash of headlights from a random stranger means you're safe to just blindly go.
Yes, the biker in that case was a bit of an idiot, a car driver in that situation would also be a bit of an idiot.
You are not because you assessed the...
There are two things here that caused the collision @Paris 182 managed to avoid;
1. Wholly inappropriate courtesy
2. Taking a flash of headlights from someone you do not know as confirmation that a situation is safe
Why did the BMW stop to let the biker out?
To feel good that he'd helped one...
Yep. When it comes to fun these are right up there. The carrier bag thin comedy flexing sidewalls see to that. Even in a straight line you can get a bit of a weave on.
Aye, you're probably right.
Nope, my once a year outing is always mid-summer and Goodwood.
As @N0ddie says, for a small one that needs loading in...tricky. The big front chairs do limit access. For me, with 12 and 7 year olds, it is absolutely fine.
I was having an off day recently...I'm starting to love it now...helped by me giving the ST a thorough clean at the weekend (first time in five months) and loving the sight of it again.
In other news an ST 'Plus' is on the way it would seem. Speculation rife that it'll give 250 bhp but I can't...
Not possible, I let them scrap the exhaust as it was on its way out...I have the cat still, but that's the main point of restriction and a good 5 hr DIY job to swap it back.
As said above, it doesn't sound anywhere near that bad in real life...but it's there, and having had many many years now...
That does include £81 per month for what Mountune have had from me but other than that it's exactly what it's cost me to own it and cover the miles I have.
I'm a few weeks in with MR230 fitted now, I've had a chance for it all to settle in and get a feel for it.
My thoughts?
Don't bother.
MP215 is the sweet spot with the ST.
MR230 has lots going for it, f*ck loads more shove at all revs, but the exhaust is getting louder, the heat shield is now...
Ah, that's it!
I replaced both batteries in my keys a month ago and a few other owners have also been getting the key not detected warning.
2x CR2032. Done.
It should tell you what that's for as part of the startup when it cycles through "push clutch down and press start" and various other messages etc.
Possibly a door or seat belt or airbag sensor? Or that your TC/ESP is completely turned off!
I'm surpised there's so little negativity towards the interior. Apart from the three small gauges on top, the blue stitching and contours on the steering wheel, and the speedo/rev counter dial faces, the inside of that is identical to my wife's C-Max in almost every way. I still want one though.
Aye. 40psi and some 102RON fuel it is then :p
I remembered today when poking about in my shed that I left part of the intake setup off when reassembling everything after fitting the last of the MR230 kit...it's only a 10mm wide rubber gasket, but it seals the join between the front grille...
